Love the band, disappointed with the 10c

Ok, maybe "hate" is too strong a word. I'm extremely dissatisfied. Like many people, I joined the 10c for one reason and one reason alone; tickets. And what is the one thing that the 10c club continually fucks up? Tickets. Every tour it's the same thing. This bullshit has been going on for far too many years. You would think that for, what is arguably, the biggest event in PJ history they could finally get it right. But, oh no, not only did they not get it right, this may be the single largest fuck up in 10c history. I mean, there is absolutely zero excuse for what happened. Countless people went out of their way to take the day off or otherwise alter their plans so they could sit around all day and not get tickets. I took today off so I could get Canada tickets. Well, that's not going to happen now since those tickets were pushed back until tomorrow when I don;t have the day off. Fantastic.

Now I know there is also that one group of 10c supporters that think the 10c can do no wrong. The 10c could literally [rude comments removed] and these people would ask for more. This message isn't for them because obviously at this point nothing is going to persuade them that the system needs to be changed. This message is for those of us that have been burned by the 10c in some form or another. In an organized fashion, we need to let the 10c know how dissatisfied we are. An email campaign, petition, etc. Whether they listen to us or not is another matter entirely. Though, I would hope that if enough of us voice our dissatisfaction, and in light of this whole PJ20 debacle, that they will listen and implement some real changes.

(and to those of you that are are going to say "Oh look, more ingrates complaining;" we have just as much right to voice our opinions as you do. Just because our opinion doesn't jive with yours, doesn't make it any less valid or important. So, I would ask that if you don't have anything constructive to contribute, please show some restraint and respect, and not post in this thread. Differing opinion are welcome so long as they have something to contribute to the conversation.)

I feel sorry for people who are new to the tenclub and think to themselves "I'm going to buy tickets today!" Like it's that simple.

if it were only so simple. and not a "take the day off of work" affair. This should be something you can take 10 min away from your work day to accomplish. Not have to "arrange" time for.

What better reason is there to have a membership besides having the opportunity to purchase tickets before the public?

Getting 10C tickets is a privilege not a right.

The last gasp of someone with no argument to make... except in this case, folks are paying an annual feel for the right to have access to ticket presales, when they are made available.

There was a ticket presale made available, and many folks didn't have access to it. They were "privileged" to refresh for 4-8 hours in hopes of getting lucky, and a few (myself included) did.

The second money changes hands for exclusive access, you can't make the privilege argument. I respect the amount of work and heartbreak 10c had to deal with, but this lame argument doesn't mean anything for folks who have plunked down their dollars every year to be part of this club.

It's too bad the band is going to feel some backlash. I'm sure they trust their reps who tell them "yeah, we have it under control, we upgraded ___ and ____ and the fans will be able to get to the show." Eddie Vedder and company aren't technophiles like Trent Reznor, who might ask the right questions and do his own research to avoid these situations... they're just taking the words of folks who don't want to lose their jobs.
Is it too much to ask for a full-blown Temple of the Dog set? Probably.

But it's always been this way & it probably always will be this way. If you don't like it, then don't waste your money. I've gotten tickets to some shows (2 EV Chi shows) & not gotten tickets to others (Vic). & over close to 18 yrs in the fan club, I've learned to deal with it.

With all due respect, I have a hard time accepting this same message you keep posting. The members of this club may never find out what really happened. But if we do, I cannot imagine any explanation that will justify the selling of tickets to some members after 10C told others the store was closed. I really cannot. We are talking about paying members of this community who were not all treated equally yesterday. How can that be explained away? How can that be justified?

That said, hate is a strong word.

Kat you can ban me if you want but you going to every thread talking about tickets and threatening people just seems like a slap in the face. I know people will jump all over me for saying this but it needs to be said. Like others have said, its simply mind boggling how a website and the people who run it can be so inept. I understand that people are trying their best but it's obvious that their "best" is not enough. Change the system. Bring in people that can actually do their jobs competently. Like other people I took the day off from work to get Canada tickets today (the fact that people have to take the entire day off to try to get tickets should say it all). After the debacle yesterday where you left thousands of people out to dry with nothing but vague hints and then told everyone the store was closed when in fact it was not, you compound that by pushing the Canada dates back because of the incompetence of the tenclub. Instead of running around threatening to ban people who have every reason to want to vent, maybe you should do something to actually help the situation. Banning people probably won't do that.

The only thing I am tired of is every single person who was frustrated with yesterday starting their own individual thread on how the 10 C ruined their lives.

Look, We are all disapointed, and people make mistakes. But some of the comments are borderline violent. Jeez, they know there is a problem. The acknowledged the problem. They told everyone to stop trying. They said they will fix it, and postponed the sale.

I really dont know what to tell some of you. If you tried for 9 hours, thats your problem. They told you they were trying to complete the transaction for some people, and everyone else should stop.

Its fine to voice your opinion, and log a complaint, and email the ten club.

i have no desire to read some sob story about [rude comment removed] who continued to hit refresh until 10 pm last night.

People on this board -- or maybe it's just America in general -- don't deal well with disappointment.
