The way it sounds to me is that Live Nation was selling tickets that they didn't technically have access to. Ten Club saw your thread, figured out what was going on, and straightened things out with them. I can totally see where Ten Club thought everything was organized, but Live Nation goofed.

That said, I'd certainly be hot if I were in your shoes. Having that much dough tied up while you're sorting this out has to be incredibly frustrating. Are you gonna try for the Ten Club sale tomorrow or are all your eggs in the basket of Live Nation making things right?

But you can't buy common sense

how is buying legit tickets and sharing w/ those who also want them lacking 'common sense'?

    Oh fuckin please!!

Your claiming 10c has green disease, yet it seems you do as well. How much did you try to sell that for again?

    And it ain't 10c's fault

And I'm not glad this happened to anyone, even you. Your anger is misguided

Sawyer, hope you get this sorted 'cause that's a huge amount of bucks to lay down to not get what you'd ordered.

Blaming 10C isn't really going to help or win support for your cause here, your contract is with Live Nation. 10C aren't a party in this dispute at all.

If LN have sold you something they don't have, then that's down to their mis-management. Ticket allocation will have been sorted as part of the contract when PJ hired the venue. If LN haven't made their staff aware then that's their own fault and they should either refund you full or offer you the best seats they have at their disposal.

I hope you get the latter.

oh yeah...absolutely....there are much worse things in life (ie. A fellow board member recently sharing he has cancer) I think having a little perspective helps. I will be in the gates of Alpine, it will be magical and this will all work out, especially the way I am channeling it. I have sent out quite a few e mails this morning. :)

Yeah it most likely isnt. Its impossible to know from the outside who dropped the ball, but it would seem the sales rep for LN sold the tix as they would for any show and didnt know that this was a 'special' set of shows where PJ maybe got more than the usual allotment.

So it was probably a sales rep doing what they always do and not knowing that things were a tad different this time around.

Who knows, but you'll definitely get better results battling with LN than you will calling the TC out on a message board.

Second, I would not have sent the email that you did. I would have waited until Monday morning to contact the department that you spoke to last week. Do you think the CEO is sits there and reads his e-mail himself?

Third, as I mentioned before, as long as you got it in writing that you were getting 6th row tickets, you should have no problem getting a full refund, but it sounds like you want more. What a court would look at is whether you really incurred any harm. If you get a refund, then you did not, other than that you got excited and came on here and started a thread about your conquest.

yeah, this is the attitude that causes you to incur so much wrath and so little sympathy. I was gonna offer to write an angry letter or make some angry phone calls for you (just because I'm a lawyer in Illinois and sometimes they respond better to lawyers) but since you have "unlimited funds," you dont need my help.

Anyway, one can only make assumptions as no one here knows what the contractual agreement is between LN and 10C.

Sawyer, don't shoot the messengers. LiveNation is who your anger and frustration should be directed toward. They sold tickets they didn't have, and then had the 10C let people know that they were screwed by LN. It was basically VIP live nation sales people trying to rip people off, hoping that nothing would be said and by the time you found out they would have their money. You should probably thank Tim for telling you what was up before you showed up at the gate.

Either way though, your in, and none of us are so be happy, its just money. If you have the resources to spend that kind of money on 2 shows I'm sure you'll make it back 8-)

Best of luck, and dont forget "You gotta spend it all" :D

agreed.....i am just curious why these tickets were ever put up for sale. these are intricacies i feel our club should have a firm handle on

Nah man, it can't be blamed on them. They didn't sell you the tickets. They have nothing to do with LN. I'm assuming that for most shows LN has those seats so the idiots just assumed they had them for these shows. But obviously they didn't and were informed they didn't.

Or they knew they didn't have them but were trying to rip people off. Either way its all at the feet of LiveNation. The 10C wasn't trying to rip people off or make more money, because they make 0 profit off of the tickets you bought more than they do off of any other ticket.

Hope you get your money back man. I'm sure your disappointed. Next time though, wait til after the 10C sale to say something on the boards. It came across to a lot of people that you were being an ass by saying "look what I got". People probably felt like you were rubbing it in their faces even though I'm sure you were just excited, as you should be.

Those people need to put themselves in your shoes before they judge. Anyone that "discovered" these tickets and had the means to buy them would have felt the same way.

never got or signed the contract that the sales rep was to provide tomorrow. Money never changed hands and items were not delivered.

No doubt you'll get your money back - that's a given.

I doubt you'll end up getting the original 6th row tickets, but they might give you first dibs to buy some other good seats.

ok..here is what is total bullshit about this.. I ordered tix on Friday. The guy said he would email me contract on Monday. Of course, this "message" relayed to us on the message board is more than likely legit..however, until I hear from that guy today or first thing monday NOTHING is confirmed sooooo what do I do? do I wait to hear from them tuesday only to find out I am not getting VIP tickets? or do I get 10club tickets tomorrow and find out somehow the VIP seats are available..... no problem if 10club took care of this earlier or even for any remaining tickets..but to do so the day before tickets go on sale is total bullshit and a MAJOR drop of the ball...

This sounds quite possible as well. I would hope that you get 100% of your money refunded!!

I can understand being upset about the whole situation but 10club is trying to do the right thing. They were able to get some of the closer seats for the fanclub that would usually go to VIP seats. We should be thankful that 10 club members are getting a chance at these better seats rather than them just eventually ending up on StubHub to the highest bidder.

I wouldn't think that you would need to go the Chicago Tribune, once you're able to speak to someone at LN on Monday they should be very willing to sort this out.

Who knows, maybe you'll actually end up with better seats than you were planning to purchase from them? But if the contract hadn't actually been signed yet (they were sending it to you on Monday?), then I'm not sure if you'll get much more than an apology. Good luck!
