I am there with at least 3 others. Depending on if we all score Ten Club tickets, it could be 8 of us but doubtful. Any ideas on ride share or getting the hotel to shuttle? The sober driver issue is a tough one for my group.

Yea, a sober driver is gonna be non existing. I'm hopin the inn will come up with something. I thought about trying to hire a mini van driver off craigslist for us all to use.

I am staying at the Americnn also with 1 friend.

We are driving up from Chicago---would totally be in for hiring a shuttle/van/something to have a sober driver. I am SO sick of being DD all the time.

My whole group would be willing to pay to set up a shuttle as well.

  • Burlington is one of the best cities in Ontario. Brant street in the downtown core by the lake is simply amazing. There are endless restaurants, pubs, bars and stores that lead right down to the lakefront. I'm not sure exactly where your hotel is in Burlington, but I can suggest the following things to do:

    Food:
    The Rude Native
    Prime SB steakhouse
    The Martini House
(google these places in Burlington for websites)

Take a walk along the lakefront or Brant Street while you're in town. Burlington is 15 minutes from Hamilton downtown and about 40 minutes from downtown Toronto.
    2003: Toronto
    2004: Boston 1
2005: Kitchener, London, Hamilton, Ottawa, Toronto
    2006: Toronto (1&2)
    2007: LOLLAPALOOZA
    2008: Mansfield (1& 2), EV Toronto
    2009:Toronto
    2010: Cleveland, Buffalo
2011: EV Detroit, East Troy (1&2), Toronto (1&2) Hamilton
    2013: London, Pittsburgh, Buffalo
2014: Milan, Trieste, Vienna, Berlin, Detroit

    ??

If it is, I´m willing to either join your group of drinkers to hire someone that would take us all there... me and my wife, actually.

Or, I´d also offer my rental car to be driven by any non-drinker willing to go to both nights in a free ride... just put the designated driver badge on and let´s rock!

I live in Burlington and will be traveling to Toronto x2 and Hamilton. If you have any questions about Burlington let me know. At its furthest point Burlington is still only a 15 minute drive from Copps Coliseum. Great place to stay for the Hamilton show and even the Toronto shows. Burlington has been ranked in the top 5 places in Canada to live for many years (http://list.moneysense.ca/rankings/best ... ?profile=3).

I'd be glad to help if anyone has any questions.

    Pumped for the shows!

Burlington, WI is a small farm town. An EX GF grew up there so I've been around the area a few times. They're only claim to fame is a Hershey's chocolate factory. :p If you manage to get back into the city before bar close and you still want to go out, Check Out Burlington Brewing Co. bar. It's got a ton of microbrews on the beer list. Most of the Wisconsin microbrews are available there. Decent food too. You guys will DEFINITELY need a sober DD to get to and from too.

I'm staying at the Rainbow Motel in Burlington. I stayed there when I saw PJ at AV during the Yield tour in '98 and for the Riot Act tour in '03. I had it booked weeks ago based on the rumors. There's no getting around it, getting out of the lot takes a long while as it does for any big concert. And this town and its small hotels are absolutely the fastest way to get back to the comfort of a room from AV. The farm roads that lead to Route 11 and over to Burlington are much better than the crowds trying to reach the main highway to the west and get down to Delavan or elsewhere. People who think they'll be back to Milwaukee by shuttle in 45 minutes are going to be sorely mistaken. I would love to join in on the group pitch to hire a shuttle bus or two. Is anyone else staying at the Rainbow? Hoping the weather may still be warm enough to use their outdoor pool.

    Peace to all Jammers!

I just booked a room at Americinn in Burlington and don't drink at all so I'd be willing to drive but we'll need a van or something, or we can pitch in for whatever too.

Yeah we'll all need to come up with a roll call at some point. Hotels are booking up fast so we should have some time to put a plan together. It's me + 1.

I called the hotel, and they have a company that does this service. I'm supposed to call him back later with how much it would be.. but if we have enough dd's, I'm getting a rental car, either way, and I'd upgrade to an suv if we had enough dd's and people can fit into rentals

Ok.. so here it goes. I need a final headcount by Monday. Apparently everyone decided to do this too! I counted 19-20 people between pm's and what was posted here, and if you posted between 1-3 unsure, I went with 3. They only have vans left, and they fit between 6 and 7 people. It's $150 per van, per night. With 3, that's $900 for both nights and about $45 a person total. And they only take cash, so no one would have to pay until the day of.

If this holds up, 45 bux is definitely worth it. I'd be in. I'd just want to REALLY make sure that they'd be there to pick us up after the show otherwise that's a looooooooooooooong walk!

You can take the GO train from Burlington right to the venue.
It is a clean safe ride and you dont need a DD then cab or walk to the hotel
its about a 45 minute ride- takes you to Union Station downtown toronto a block away from the venue
last train leaves at 12 or so to get home though-
