What's up everybody!!

With all this excitement going on during this pj20 year, I've had a strong urge to join in all the fun and activities.

I became a fan in the early years being at that perfect teenage age in the 90s(I think I might be getting old :o ) to take it all in. Somehow I lost track of the band and music in general for many years. But one day as if I had a vision I decided to put back on some Pearl Jam, and the rest was history.
With all theses years past I think it is a great time to look back and reflect on what a great band this really is. The raw energy and emotion that theses guys put out is indescribable, but I know I like it. The way a song and a few written lyrics can take you to a different place and change the way you feel is what real music is to me. The connection between the band and all the fans coming together to experience something we cannot put into words is what its all about.

So now for me there are two types of music Pearl Jam and then everyone else. Nobody I know understands my belief. I search this forum everyday for the latest pj news, spend all my money on pj related things, talk to people who don't want to listen about the band, and I have been planning a vacation to a event with a unknown place and date for the past several months. Because of all of this I've come to the conclusion that I have a problem and might be in need of a support group!

Am I going crazy and If so will you guys be my friends?

The first step to recovery is admitting everyone else has a problem by not being as obsessed with as amazing of band as PJ! You're totally normal here friend! :D

Yellowho - your introduction could have been written by me!! Huge fan in the early years...then 'career' took over and music kind of left my life for awhile....then last year I saw PJ on SNL performing 'Just Breathe'. I thought 'OMG - PEARL JAM' and the obsession started all over again!! Since then I've bought every CD I missed out on over those 'in between' years - the recent re-issues including the vinyls (so had to buy a turntable system in order to play and enjoy them) - EV poster recently from someone on the board. And seeing EV solo in Detroit in June - flying from Dallas just to see him! So I can definitely relate to your comment about 'spending all my money on PJ related stuff'. :D

And like you - I'm on the board here lurking for news on the PJ20 festival dozens of times a day. I've already told my best friend that she has no choice but to go with me WHENEVER and WHEREVER the PJ20 festival happens.

Nice to see someone else have a story similar to mine!

Yup, that is basically how it is for me. It makes no sense to me how no one else I know can't see that Pearl Jam is the perfect rock band. But I am glad I have this message board who share the same appreciation for the band that I do.

Last night I was out with some friends and was talking about the fesitval and how excited I am about it and that I was going at any cost. One of them said she did not get what the big deal is with the festival. I think I need new friends!! As for getting old, I am 57 and am as passionate about PJ now as I was way back then.
    Be kind whenever possible.
    It is always possible.
