people come and go, not music
I just said good by to a really good friend of mine, he just graduated college, I am pretty sure I may never see him again. He and I had a bit of a falling out and I am pretty sure this was the last time I will ever see him. I know some people may say its not worth dwelling over, and you maybe right but, it still hurts. I am the type of person who likes keeping as many of my friends as I can. So when someone who I care a lot about, like this kid, leaves, it's real hard to handle. I don't know why I am writing this, I normally try to write happy posts. Sorry if this brings up bad memories to some people. I just don't know what to do. I think I'll listen to some Pearl Jam.
Camden NJ night 1 6/19/2008 (one of the best days of my life!)
Music is the engine to my Imagination and Pearl Jam is the fuel for that engine.

Although a slighly different circumstance, I feel you on this. I lost a really close friend last fall (she didn't die, don't wanna make it sound that way) but we had a falling out too. I thought it'd get better, but it's been 6 months.
If it means that much to you, my advice would be to try and stay in touch. let them know thier friendship is important to you. Then at least you'll know you tried....
Remember, its QUALITY of friends that matter, not quantity.
And yes, PJ will do ya good
Makes much more sense...

I can't tell you how many times I've had a falling out with friends, and even though I sometimes wished I would never see them again, I inevitably did. Sometimes we became friends again only to have another falling out. I don't know the exact circumstances of your situation, but I'm sure things will calm down over time. And the world is so small these days with all this social networking and what have you, that it's pretty hard to just lose somebody and never even come into contact with them entirely, unless they go off the grid.
Who knows, maybe in 20 years your friend will come back, new and improved with fancy new packaging and some bonus tracks."See a broad to get dat booty yak 'em, leg 'er down, a smack 'em yak 'em!"0
