Can someone please exlpain to me their ideas on ticketing for PJ20 if it happens to be at Alpine Valley? Once tickets/ weekend passes are purchased will you:

-Be randomly assigned different seats for each show?
-Be assigned the same seats for each show?
-Will lawn prices and seated prices be the same?
-If it is an all day thing, will people be allowed to exit and enter the music venue from the camping area multiple times?

It seems almost logistically impossible to solve these problems without the "festival" being in a general admission setting.

Note- I'm not trying to be negative in this thread.

I didn't read the whole thread, but I agree with what one of the first responders said. We have no idea how this is going to be. While it can be fun to speculate, we really have little information to go off of at this point. I say it's best to just wait until it's announced.

Didn't Tim or Kelly say this wasn't a festival? Did that change?

    1) Yes, they said that.
    2) No, it hasn't changed. However, according to usamamasan it doesn't matter because Websters definition of "festival" describes PJ20 even though we have no idea what PJ20 will be other than that PJ is playing live and they are inviting a few friends to play.

The original idea of the thread was to speculate on how seating would be done if a festival type event would take place at Alpine Valley, or a comparable venue. I was hoping to get some input on how you think it would make it entertaining and worthwhile for people to travel to such an awesome event from far distances.

*******RedMosquito22, I saw in your sig. that the first time you saw PJ play was in Scranton in 92. That pretty close to my hometown (I'm from North of Scranton). Where did they play and do you know if there is a boot available?

Tom, good luck having any kind of rational discussion on the Porch....
400 posts in you should know that by now ;-)

Anyway......Of course it's all speculation, and it's all for fun and seeing other peoples ideas.

IF it's at APV....I would think if you were a 10c member and wanted to try for seats you will have the same seating for the duration. Unless of course you were able to win the lottery and get row 1,2 9 or 10. I don't think it would be fair to win the lottery and get those seats the whole time. SO maybe that would change for each day? There may also be a lawn only option or a VIP option so there are different price levels.
Maybe VIP will be 10c seats with some kind of perks thrown in for good measure. I'm thinking VIP may also include that camping they have added and some rooms at the Alpine resort. Maybe special event merch or something of that nature. VIP prices for other fests and shows are usually about three to four times a regular ticket, but it probably helps a lot with the cost of the whole project and hey, if I can afford it I would go that route.
Then there should be hotel packages and maybe shuttles to and from said hotels.
My first thoughts about pricing? I'm going with $300 a person for a seat. Maybe $175 for lawn and something like $750 for a VIP. All ballpark, but thats my best guess.

If it's somewhere else and GA. I'm going for $250 a ticket. Same deal with VIP and hotel packages. VIP special viewing area (usually not in front of stage, maybe near soundboard, or off to the side).

It's going to be interesting how this will go. My whole summer plans are on hold waiting for the announcement. Right now I am planning on driving from CT and being in WI on Thursday, leaving on Monday. Have a hotel booked with no cx policy and just waiting to see what happens and what kind of packages they will offer. :?
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!

    My $0.02???

    IF it is Alpine....BIG IF!!!!

Alpine will just be like any other weekend dates Pearl Jam has played in the past....
Only difference?? A couple of back-up bands....
    2 nights only.....

Prices will be as expected....... for a good old fashioned Pearl Jam show.....
    $100 a seat? $200 a pair....
10 club will get their normal amount of seats made available to us members.......
You wont have to buy a "weekend pass" at some crazy amount of money.....

    My $0.02.......
But what the fuck do I know????
    Take me piece by piece.....

Not sure if they said it wasn't a festival, but in this week's Rolling Stone - it said it was still a festival and they honored PJ with best anniversary in their best in rock awards.

Actually its well over 400, but something went funky when the board changed a couple of years ago and I lost ALOT of post. So I should have REALLY learned my lesson by now. Thanks for the couple of reasonable response. I'm hoping it is something a little more special than simply buying tickets as if it were any other PJ show, as Speedy suggested. If that is the case, well I'm not sure if it will attract people from too far away. I know, speaking as someone coming from PA, if it is nothing more than simply a PJ show with two openers, I'll wait until they are a little closer to the northeast corner of the country to go to a couple of show.

Agreed, but I'm hoping for more than just a regular show. I'm hoping for a celebration.

And yea, I lost a crap load of post totals when they changed the board too.
