Ok...settle a dispute between me and a friend. If you have this boot, listen to Alive and tell me whether Stone breaks a string or just misses a note in the intro.

I say he just misses a note, but my buddy swears he breaks a string.

If you dont have the boot, I think it can be found online easily.

    I agree with you. I didnt listen to it, and i think its silly, but ur friend isnt a fan enough to post about it first 8-)

  • I'm with you. I think he misses a note. I don't think he would have ben able to continue playing the riff over & over with a broken string... ;) I suppose he could have jumped position to keep playing, but I doubt it. Also, it's so close to the start of the song, I'm fairly sure he would have just stopped & changed guitars.

    That said, his playing is pretty tentative from that point on...

    Never heard that version before though... gotta say, from about 4:15 on, it really makes me miss Jack...

    I love the whole boot, its great. Always wondered what happened on that lick. Im like you though...it woulda been real hard to keep playing with a broken string.
