goof and i have been the proprietors of gremmie.net since 1998. then it was a website for our college band, now it’s our love letter to Pearl Jam fans. as the site has grown in the past few years, so have the costs of keeping the site running. we came up with two feasible options to stave off our increasing costs. 1. take donations, and 2. sell merch.

we chose number 2. we make less money on merch since we only get 10% of each sale, but we think it adds up after a while. besides, goof and I feel it’s way cooler to give people something in exchange for supporting gremmie.net instead of just asking for handouts. we hope you agree with us and vote with your wallets. thanks.

    thanks a lot! we put a lot of time into the designs so that we could offer interesting merch to the folks who visit the site. we also made sure the build quality was top notch, which is why chose the American Apparel tees. we'd love it if everyone would buy a t-shirt to help support the site.

    At risk of sound like a broken record, just know that Goof and I REALLY appreciate the support. We think that selling good quality merch is a much better approach than simply asking for donations via PayPal. So, thanks.

    Agreed...however, you may want to consider that as an alternative. I could see someone wanting to send you just a few bucks but not be able to buy any merch.

    You may be right about that. Goof and I had discussed adding a PayPal direct donation option. In reality, it would be much easier to hit our target through donations since we don't make a heck of a lot off the merch on a per item basis (see here: http://www.gremmie.net/gremmie-net/gremmie-dot-store). We decided against it because we were confident that gremmies would step up and support us.

    But you're right. It doesn't hurt to have the option. We'll look into it. Thanks for the feedback.
