And the whole thing about DUIs and not being there.....if you've been ticketed for txtng and driving, can you still get into Canada? Txting and driving is just as dangerous so you guys should probably freak out about that too.

txting and driving is just a traffic ticket, is it not? (I wouldn't know, I don't do that either). drunk driving is a criminal offense.

I don't either. Texting and driving, I would say, is just as dangerous. The average person takes 7 seconds to send a text. At 60 miles an hour, that's like a half mile. The severity of the offense is dependent on where you live but it shouldnt matter. Txting and driving is just as serious as DUI, imo.
I can't remember where I heard it, but I had heard that a study was done where they proved that someone texting while driving was similar and nearly indistinguishable in driving patterns to DUI... I agree, texting is just as bad, and just as selfish of an act. Maybe more, because you've got no excuse for your poor judgment.

South Americans are tweeting that PJ is coming to their countries in September. Apparently some promoter down there says so. It's all over Twitter right now. I tend to believe Mudhoney over some promoter!

I saw those tweets to. Interesting. I still think the SA tour will be in November.

honestly, how many people who live near the border that don't have a passport? and what's a passport, $90 so you can travel anywhere in the world for 10 years? so we're talking 9 bucks a year? lol

i don't think canada needs u.s. fans help in filling up an arena, they're fans freaking rock and sell the place out.

Exactly. Even if someone doesn't have a passport, which you don't need if you have an enhanced drivers license, then anyone with half a brain would go out and get one now with all the rumors or basic confirmation by mudhoney

I'd love to hear WaveRyder justify why because he was an idiot who got caught for DUI that's somehow the nation of Canadas fault. I wasn't thrilled about going to get my passport before the US shows last year but you're acting as if they're almost impossible to come by. It wasn't Canadas choice to tighten up border security jack, it was the US Government.

agreed. I need to start saving my pennies!

Forget pennies, start saving your toonies ;)
LOL, to the Americans who havent visited the Great Northern Land, do yourself a favor and visit the "adult dance clubs" there. ;) The things they do with the toonies are just fabulous.

I have nothing but great things to say about Canada. Wish I could make this tour too.
And so you see, I have come to doubt

7 seconds would get you about 0.11 miles at 60 mph. it'd take 30 seconds to go half a mile.

Well, my statistics are off but during my state's senate legislation on the subject, whatever stats they used equated to a half mile without eyes on the road.

Ok I'm going to readily admit that I didn't read through 11 pages of this thread so I'll just ask my question. I didn't know you need a passport to get from US to Canada now (last time I went was 2000 and I didn't have a passport then either). So am I reading this correctly that if you have a criminal background you can't get across? Or just if you have a DUI or something like that? When I was younger I was stupid and didn't pay some traffic tickets and what not off and I ended up doing a few days for it.

Sorry if it's a stupid question, I'm just asking before I start to talk the wifey into going to Toronto in September.

the passport thing came into effect not to long ago.

and i don't want to say you'll be fine crossing the boarder but i doubt they would deny you for parking tickets (if thats what it really is. never heard of someone doing time for that).

my buddy was arrested for assault, but didn't do any time. but its in the system. i've been accross the boarder with him a few times. the first time they really harassed us, but let us through. the other two times we had no problems at all.

and i can't believe all of the molson amp hate! yeah it sucks leaving the place but its my favourite bigger venue to go to. i love it there.

Not too sure if anyone mentioned this in the last 11 pages but I checked the Massey Hall, ACC & Molson Amphitheatre websites & none of them have anything posted for gigs in September. I wonder which venue they'll choose?

It won't be Massey that's for sure.

    I'd be on ACC.
