  • Rediculous fucking comparison... Gnr are as overrated as they come. Axl in particular.... Velvet Revolver did kick some ass however....
    Now bring me my beer.
  • Ahh but Kurt Cobain also hated Pearl Jam as well.
I think Kurt Cobain is overestimated, he should have had the courage to not have felt burned out and shouldn´t have faded away...

Kurt was a junke liked to send out provocative messages through medias...

I don´t take everything for seriouse kurt cobain said!!
  • I'm talking about the music, not the hype. Chinese Democracy is a better listen than the last 2 PJ albums.

Completely disagree with you, for me the last PJ album is a great album and not as over - produced like Chinese Democracy...

I whole-heartedly agree, Kurt Cobain would have ended up like brittney or axl had he not killed himself and left his daughter without a father
"So forget the other boys because my love is real.
    Come off your battlefield."
  • I like their old shit too...it has it's place in time...but it's lack of sustenance when compared to PJ's catalog makes this debate laughable!

    G n R is cock/arena rock...PJ is the thinking man's rock n' roll..like an artichoke with many layers compared to G n R's one layered banana.

    Right on CB...brilliant analogy.

The last thing I'd call some of GNRs better songs like Coma is one layered.

I love both bands, GNR was quite simply the best hard rock band to come from that era by a landslide as no others had the hooks or musicianship of GNR. In some ways, I tend to credit GNR for killing the hair metal scene as much or more than Nirvana as they were the first band to really push the limits and make music dangerous again rather than the glitter infested soft mainstream that infected the era.

Pearl Jam, well you guys know how great they are and they are likely my longest running favorite band.

Ultimately, they are both great bands and seldom is there a time where they are not both in my mp3 player.

there is no comparison as the real Guns N Roses has long since disappeared. what is out now is a cover band with Axl fronting it. When a band hasn't been around or toured in 15 years they cease to be relevant. So clearly there is no debate.
