Don't "get" the ukulele? I fell in love with the uke 10 years ago and the love aint fading. If you're wondering why a rocker like Ed would get into it, here's some history.

The Ukulele was invented in Hawaii and was modeled off an instrument brought there by Portuguese sailors.

It first gained mainland popularity after the Pacific Expo in San Fran in 1915

Hawaiian music became a huge fad and had an enormous impact on American music styles that were around/developing at the time, including jazz, country, ragtime, various types of folk and blues, etc..

The uke had another wave of popularity in the 40's and 50's, when it got it rep as a novelty instrument

The uke remained popular with songwriters and musicians throughout the folk and rock eras

...... does that help?

I love the ukulele....I fell in love about a year ago, and while I've been playing the guitar for 10+ years, when I'm sitting around the house just lounging, I love grabbing my uke and fiddling around
