    First of all, 82.67% of all stats are made up on the spot and completely unreliable.

    Secondly, people who think interracial marriage should be illegal are complete idiots and shouldn't be given the time to make their point.
    The only people we should try to get even with...
    ...are those who've helped us.

    Its bizarre to me that a stat like that should arise...
    I guess I live in Vancouver though.

    Marrying the same race is soooo 1956.
    All the cool kids get inter married these days ;)


    Speaking of, if i were to marry my current bf, our children would be guatemalan/japanese/caucasian [irish/scottsh/welsh roots] :lol:

    If the survey is done correctly with a random sample, then it does essentially includes everyone (in this case, Republicans of Mississippi) of that population, plus or minus the margin of error. The 400 people are the ones asked, but they represent the larger group.

    Heck, 40-50 carefully selected snippets of crazy tea party supporters is enough to judge the characteristics of 100% of everyone that supports the platform .... 400 people is more then enough to validate the study!

    Speaking of race, where do people draw the lines with races? Are whites and hispanics considered different races? Aren't most hispanics half or part white if not fully(Spanish)? What if you are half black? Didn't Native Americans migrate from Asia? Didn't Asians migrate from Africa? Aren't we all from Africa???.. I've read as little as 13,000 years ago, there were Europeans with black skin..


    The word "race" is so irrelevant. It's a term that needs to disappear. We need to stop finding ways to separate ourselves from eachother.

    I'm a euro mutt (Dutch, German, Polish, Chech). My girlfriend is Spanish, Colombian, Native American, Jewish, Dominican, Italian.. if we marry and have kids, what the hell will our kids be?

    I've been saying for years that we're all of mixed race so what's the point of classifying us by it?

    Here's an example - If you lined up 100 people from the whitest white to the blackest black, at what point would you draw the line and have one group of whites and one group of blacks?

    The government considers Hispanics to be white. Your kids will be whatever they identify themselves, and also what other people identify them as. Race is irrelevant, but people make it relevant, so it is.

    I agree appie. I know first hand the venom of racism. I am in an interracial marriage. We didn't pick each other based on our skin colour. We love each other's soul. No matter what race a person is, we all know what love is. We all long for love, so why not just give it first?

    EVEN IF these 400 people somehow were an isolated sample of people, that is... the rest of the population had 0 people who believed that it should be illegal...

    its still 184 people too many!

    I don't see color and don't know any racists personally probably because they wouldn't be attracted to me,
    our mindset too different.

    I have lived in the Wisconsin for 35 years and here in Georgia for 20.

    Racist people are everywhere ... each region of the country
    and actually I feel WI was more segregated than here in GA.

    A thought I hope for is with all the mixing of races how can prejudice even survive ....
    everyone will be a little more like each other ... a lovely mixture.

    Everyone came from Africa, it's the motherland. Of course Neanderthals did leave Africa for Europe rather quickly and then went extinct many thousands of years later, where is the Homo Sapiens evolved more staying in Africa building a society and evolving. Then moving out towards the rest of the world.
