Great to hear "live" Dave Abbruzzese on vinyl

Sometimes i forget how much punch Dave had in a live setting. It's great to hear a good recording of it on vinyl. I have the 5 Alive bootleg vinyl, but the sound quality isn't as good as the Orpheum show.
While i really enjoy Matt's drumming, i think sometimes it can be a little too rushed. When this happens the songs lose some of the girth that Dave brought with his style. I realize that songs tend to speed up when played live, but i think Dave was really good at finding a balance.


ps. In all fairness, Dave's use of the splash cymbal is kind of a bummer.

    IMO, Dave was the best drummer. This is debated weekly around here, but I firmly believe it.

    Amazing stuff. I sometimes forget how much I miss the old music, the drumming, the open space they allowed for the music to go where it wanted to on any particular evening, etc. Intense is right.

    Agreed. I hope they do, but I unfortunately don't think it's in them to do it.
