Anyone else think the 10C needs a new ticketing system???

Obviously the current system doesnt work for Vedder solo tickets, but with a little improvement, I think its fine for the Pearl jam tours. The last thing I want is to be limited to purchasing one pair of tickets for a tour. And there is no sense saying you can get tickets on day 2. For high demand shows they will be sold out anyway. So thats pointless. The main reason i'm in the Ten Club is basically for the chance to purchase tickets. But I know i'm not guaranteed any tickets and thats fine. My favorite thing to do on this planet is to go to multiple shows, hang out with all my other Pearl Jam friends & party. You cant beat it. I save my vacation time every year for Pearl jam tours and I dont give a rats ass if people think im crazy.Pearl Jam Shows: 1998 - 9/11 New York, NY (MSG night 2); 9/13 Hartford, CT || 2000 - 8/24 Wantagh, NY (Jones Beach 2); 8/27 Saratoga Springs; 8/29 Mansfield, MA (night 1); 8/30 Mansfield, MA (night 2) || 2003 - 4/29 Albany, NY; 5/3 State College, PA; 7/2 Mansfield (night 1); 7/6 Camden, NJ (night 2); 7/8 New York, NY (MSG night 1) || 2004 - 9/28 Boston, MA (night 1); 9/29 Boston, MA (night 2) || 2005 - 10/3 Philadelphia, PA || 2006 - 5/12 Albany, NY; 5/13 Hartford, CT; 5/24 Boston, MA (night 1); 5/25 Boston, MA (night 2); 5/27 Camden, NJ (night 1); 5/28 Camden, NJ (night 2)|| 2008 - 6/19 Camden, NJ (night 1); 6/24 New York, NY (MSG night 1); 6/25 New York, NY (MSG night 2); 6/27 Hartford, CT; 6/28 Mansfield, MA (night 1); 6/30 Mansfield, MA (night 2); 7/1 New York, NY (Beacon Theater)|| 2009 - 9/21 Seattle, WA (night 1); 9/22 Seattle, WA (night 2); 10/27 Philadelphia, PA (Spectrum night 1); 10/28 Philadelphia, PA (Spectrum night 2); 10/30 Philadelphia, PA (Spectrum night 3); 10/31 Philadelphia, PA (Spectrum night 4)|| 2010 - 5/15 Hartford, CT; 5/17 Boston, MA; 5/20 New York, NY (MSG night 1); 5/21 New York, NY (MSG night 2)|| 2011 - 9/3 East Troy, WI (PJ20); 9/4 East Troy, WI (PJ20) || 2012 - 9/2 Philadelphia, PA, 9/30 Missoula, MT || 2013 - 7/19 Chicago, IL (Wrigley Field), 10/12 Buffalo, NY, 10/15 Worcester, MA (night 1), 10/16 Worcester, MA (night 2), 10/18 Brooklyn, NY (night 1), 10/19 Brooklyn, NY (night 2), 10/25 Hartford, CT || 2014 - 10/22 Denver, CO || 2015 - 9/26 New York, NY (Global Citizen Festival) || 2016 - 5/1 New York, NY (night 1), 5/2 New York, NY (night 2), 8/5 Boston, MA (Fenway Park night 1), 8/7 Boston, MA (Fenway Park night 2) || 2018 - 9/2 Boston, MA (Fenway Park night 1) || 2020 - 3/30 New York, NY

I don't know that this is fair to suggest. I think a "proper" tour is one that suits the band's collective interests the best. They have been around for 20 years, not getting any younger, have families, and priorities/interests that may not agree with 40+ shows. Sure, we'd love to see them do 40+ shows, but I can't fault them for doing things the way they, as human beings, see fit. I think we all have so much passion for the band because of what they have shared with us doing a live show- relentless energy, passion, and emotion. I don't know that they could sustain that over 40+ shows and, even if they could, we could expect them to fold as a band a lot sooner in the end.
While I think that PJ should do a tour of whatever length they want, to suggest that they could not sustain the energy and passion over 40+ shows is inane. Springsteen was 60 (not to mention Clarence was in his late 60s) when the last tour ended and he toured for almost 2 years non-stop and the shows the final month of the tour averaged 3 hrs and 15 mins. And several of those shows were among the best he's done in decades, if not ever.0 -

Point taken. I'm sure you may be right in that they could pull off a 40+ show tour but I don't know that comparing a PJ show to a Springsteen show is necessarity a fair comparison. Again, as we both agreed, it has more to do with the collective interests of the band I think anyway.0 -
I love some of the side projects, not all, but I would much rather the focus be on PJ tours rather than Tres Mts, Brad, Soundgarden, or Eddie solo. Also, I'm not 100% sure on the math but I think Eddie will end up playing more shows by himself this year than the full band has played in any single year since 2006. Its unfortunate because every year that gets lost to only a few shows is a year that can't be gotten back. I'd give anything to see another full US tour materialize.___________________________________________

How many shows is Ed doing in total at least 20 no to think they couldn't do ok let's say 30 show tour is absurd off course they could but i agree it has more to do with their priorities than anything else , still more shows means more tickets for more people to see them as it stands these mini tours they do just don't supply enough tickets .....jesus greets me looks just like me ....0 -

You would think from all the money they have made from 2005-2011 that they could afford a new server at some point? I can't imagine new servers could be cost prohibitive.___________________________________________

In 2008 I went to MSG, Hartford and Boston, that was the last time for me going to the east coast, I SIMPLY refuse to try and purchase 10 Club seats for that part of the country. 2009 I went to both shows at Key Arena in Seattle, I bought tickets through Ticketmaster, then I used my friend from England's 10 Club tix and sold mine for under face value and gave him the money, he didn't charge me the difference and there were TONS of extra tickets outside both nights.
2010 I purchased tickets through 10 Club for Columbus, Indy and Cleveland, Columbus and Indy took about 3 minutes to get my tickets and Cleveland took about 5 minutes, this was such a relief as I did not even try for ANY east coast shows. I will simply refuse to participate in EVERYONE trying for tickets at the same time, should I change my mind in the future, I will buy them on Ebay, Stubhub, Craigslist, whatever I have to do, but I will not try for 10 Club tickets again the way that they do it.
If the PJ20 tickets are done the same way I will not even try for tickets, I'll be on the sidelines and just wait for the BITCHING to start, because it will, several people will just throw the towel in on their 10 Club membership and TONS of post will be locked. It will happen, but I won't be one of the mad pissed off people complaining, because I will not be involved.

I dont pretend to know what servers cost or whether making that investment is cost effective given the frequency or infrequency of ticket sales. That is information we will never be privy to.HailHailVitalogy wrote:Get_Right wrote:

i think it's good enough to leave as is
got ev tickets(both solo tours)and got pj tickets to all shows i wanted to see. i have only been shut out once ever and i dont go to nyc and boston to see pj/ev shows
i feel for the peeps who live in the nyc/boston area because like a zillion people live in that vicinity but that's what u get. that can't be helped.
also like tim said...supply vs demand. pj are playing the game where if they have less tour dates they will get more full stadiums=max profit for them and their promoter. can't blame them for that0 -

Max profit??? how dare they???? They are supposed to be a non-profit and do everything for the fans. They are supposed to do very cheap or free shows and do full length cross-country tours with multiple dates in every city over 10,000 population. And make no money and just do it for the fun of it G-D dammit!!!!
or maybe they can do as they please and make a healthy profit and be happy :shock:0 -
