ATTENTION ALL TICKET BROKERS:
I tried for Benaroya (7/16 show) on TICKETMASTER for 1 hour non-stop right at 5PM. Probably searched over a 150 times over and over again. Very disappointed I couldn't even get one seat. And I know I'm not the only fan that got left out... There's tons. But guess who managed to get a shit ton of tickets!?!?!?? Ticket brokers!! Imagine that.
All I know is that there is a very certain somebody that needs to get punched in the face, and I mean like really fuckin hard. This certain somebody either works for Ticketmaster, a ticket broker, or both. Why ticket brokering is legal - I don't know. Somebody needs to get to the bottom of this. Ticket brokering - A real nice way to make a profit - no skill or soul required. Just hog all the tickets from real fans then turn around and sell them for double or triple. Easy enough. It works out good because you don't have to be good at anything, other than buying tickets. Hell I'm smart enough, I could probably be a great ticket broker. But I'm not a cocksucker so it probably wouldn't work out.
If you're a ticket broker, would your parents be proud of what you do? The answer is no. They probably wish they would have coat hangered you before you were born. The next time I have to buy tickets from ticket brokers - I need every ticket broker involved to line up outside the venue when the concert is over, then I am going to punch each and everyone of them directly in the cocksucker... Then we can call it even. That should make up for me spending my hard earned money - which was earned by participating in society as a functional member, not as a money grubbing leach. So if you're a ticket broker and you just read this post, go fuck yourself.
Everyone else, sorry for the language I know this isn't a truck stop. Just angry. And I would feel slightly better if I knew at least one ticket broker read what's written above. Take care!

Think the coat hanger comment might be a bit offside though.
Meanwhile some poor schmuck outside the arena selling a ticket for $10 over the ticket price will get arrested for scalping. Go figure.
fade away...
I am at peace with my lust.....for Eddie.

Legal or not, scalpers will always exist.
The choice is yours as to whether you buy tix off them.
I want to start by saying that I love the passion of this board!!! While I was fortunate to get tickets through the Ten Club sale this week, I certainly have been in your shoes. I thought I would share my humble opinion on the subject. Scalping has always been a hot topic. No, I'm not a scalper, and if I do have to sell tickets, I will sell them for what I paid. The problem is not the scalpers (for the most part), it is your local governments that do not enforce the laws they have in place. While scalping is legal in many states, many states have limits to the amount they can resell a ticket above its face value. In PA, the limit is 5% above face value. Needless to say, these "laws" are not enforced. Lately, the large companies have created their own "scalping" sites; the NFL, MLB, NHL, and NBA all have places that fans can go and resell their tickets for whatever they want. Of course, these sites get a very nice fee on each sale. Your local governments will not go after these entities as they provide jobs and revenue. The question I ask myself is, "Why would someone want to become a ticket scalper in the first place"?
I try to humanize "the enemy" in an effort to understand their ways and thinking. Many of these people are spouses, they are parents, brothers and sisters; you get the idea. They are just trying to earn a living like the rest of us. They are not alone in buying or making something and selling it at a large profit. You would be shocked at the profit margin of some of the products you purchase at your local supermarkets. The reason this particular salesman's prices sting so much is because you are so very passionate for the product. I feel your pain. I have been there, and undoubtedly will get shut out at some point or another before all is said and done. I'm not defending the practice. I just thought I would provide another perspective on the subject.
Finally, I hope you all find your tickets without having to sell the farm. Someone on here made some good points on how to pay less for your tickets when buying from scalpers. Wait until the last possible minute, etc. Check it out if you get a chance. Have a great day my friends. Good luck, and rock on Pearl Jam!!!!!!!!

Then I wouldn't have to get ass-raped myself for tickets...
I know there are more important things going on in our country today, but consumers are getting screwed here. And it's not just consumers trying to go to an Eddie Vedder concert.
The choice is not only ours but also Eddies. He has been in the game long enough to know whats going on, hell this is the same guy that bent over backwards for his fans back in 1994 to find ways to cut ticket prices. Now what? All artists have the choice to eliminate scalpers by going paperless. Eddie knew the demand would be crazy to see him live in small venues, now look? Every show I wanted to see was sold out BEFORE THEY WENT ONSALE! Ok, PHilly is sold out, I will try for NYC, ok thats gone, I will try for Seattle, same story for all 3 shows, its a scam. You expect me to believe they sold 3,000 tickets in 5 seconds? Meanwhile hundreds of tickets show up on stubhub, a partner site for ticketmaster. You can blame scalpers all you want, but Eddie could have gone paperless and eliminated scalping, and looked out for us fans
One more suggestion...start a thread on fans who want to see EV for face value and have everyone list the number of tickets they want...I tihkn that there are plenty of people who bought tickets for the concert 2-3 months away that eventually will need to get rid of them because of different circumstances (friends bagged out, change of plans, flights cost too much, etc...) and would rather sell them to someone here on the boards (i.e., "true fans") as opposed to an unknown that may just be looking to flip them for a profit. In fact, I've got a pair that I bought thinking I could go to two shows in 2 nights in Chicago - but my wife said only 1 night...so I have to get rid of the second pair...and would rather sell them at face to someone here than screw someone here that didn't get in (and I'd still be able to keep them out of the hands of scalpers AND help someone avoid those scalper fees).
they all got seats, we should have 'em too
etc
