hey a lot of these questions have been answered in the All That's Sacred podcasts 59 & 61. and I remember a drum mag (maybe a manufacturer) website had the exact kit he played on Ten with cymbals listed too. I'll try to find it.

He mentioned in the podcast that the drumming since has sounded just slightly wrong (on the TEN tracks). Who has sounded the better out of Dave A, Jack and Matt?
And fuck me if I say something you don't wanna hear

    Good point Liam.

OP - before giving the questions to Dave Krusen, you may want to post the list of them, and then maybe previous interviews may have answered some already.
ADD 5,200 to the post count you see, thank you. :)

I'd love to know what he remembers most about being in the studio and recording the album. What was the vibe like.. did they all work well together having this new singer?

Donny Anderson's two interviews in the podcast cover a LOT of ground. People should give them a listen before you finalize the list of questions, IMO.

  • Dave... What was your experience like working with Candlebox? Really enjoyed your drumming on Happy Pills and the work on Into the Sun. Really talented bunch of musicians, and was curious how working with them compared to working with Pearl Jam. Thanks.

    Original Poster...thanks for doing this.
  • Yeah, i can definitely do that, no problem. :)

If you listen to Pearl Jam since your departure, what are your favorite songs and why?
I would really like to know this too

My question would be: Did you ever try or were you asked to be back in the band? Maybe after Dave A left?
Take me for a ride before we leave...
  • Does he actually keep up with the band? Has he seen them live since?

Does he have any entertaining Rick Parashar vs. Pearl Jam stories?

Did/do you struggle with 'what if's' and regret, or are you at peace with it?

Describe the vibe/memories you experience when you hear songs from 10.

You have said that you struggled with the timing of Even Flow. Did Even Flow get you fired?

Thanks for the shout out, y'all... Here are links to the ATS Krusen interviews if you want to reference before conducting your interview. Just want to say for the record, Dave is a super nice guy and could not have been more candid and accommodating.

What was your reaction like when you and the guys got together with ed? The music that was there was obviously pretty solid, but what was it like when you guys got to jam together with a vocalist. Did you feel like something big was happening, or going to happen at least?

  • This has been amazing guys! Thank you so much for all of your questions! I'm going to keep this open until around mid-day tomorrow, then i'll work on getting all the questions posted and we'll take a look at them and pick the 20 most unique. Some of you have heard the previous interviews, while some of you haven't, so we'll leave a few of the questions in that have already been asked, but we'll try to keep the majority original questions.

I'm excited to hand this over to him :)

First off Dave, thanks for everything you contributed to Pearl Jam. You helped build the machine that is still running today.

Do you regret leaving the band?

At the time for you it was obviously the right decision but in this stage in your life do you look back and wish you had stayed?

    Thank you.

I re-listened to ATS podcast #59 a bit earlier today and think that a lot of the questions people have asked about Dave K's experience with the band's early days could probably be answered by giving it a listen. It's totally worth it. Donny's show is terrific.

    Give it a listen people!

Hello, Dave, ahem Mr. Krusen. I am a big fan of Pearl Jam and of your drumming style and I just have to know: Boxers or Briefs?

  • I know that on ATS podcast #59 Dave had said that he saw the band play at MSG in 2010, my questions to him would be:

-Are you a huge Pearl Jam fan?

-Do you listen to the band and their music today?

-Post "Ten", what is your favorite Pearl Jam album?

-Post your tenure with the band who is your favorite Pearl Jam drummer?

-If asked, would you consider joining Pearl Jam on stage at PJ20?

-Will Unified Theory ever put another album out?

Thanks Chris for doing this. I can't wait to see the final interview.

  • Ok. So i'm in the process of weeding out all the questions onto a word doc. I'll then post all the questions, and we can go through them, deciding on which ones to leave in, trying to avoid duplicates from the 2 podcasts. I figure if we do this, we can give him an original setup to work with, and provide PJ fans with new or evolved information.

How does this sound? I should HOPEFULLY have this up for you to view by early sunday. I have to work tomorrow so i may not get it up by then...
