I was just curious to see who was going to the Detroit show who was from Ohio. I'm from Cleveland, but go to school in Toledo so it's close, although I'll be home for summer. It would be nice to meet some fellow Ohioans.
I got some if you need it.

45 minutes away - yes, I'll be there - Go Rockets - and you should have been going to school there when they played Savage Hall - never thought that would happen in a million years. 8-)

O great stuff. Was that in 2004 with Neil? My brother went and said the sound was so bad. I was in 7th grade at the time ha.

No - Neil was in 2004 on the Vote For Change tour at the now destroyed Sports Arena - yes - the sound there was like seeing the guys play in a dumpster.

Savage was 1996 - No Code tour if I recall - sound was pretty good but those were rough times and the height of the fight with ticketbastard. Also, Toledo had an 11:00 o'clock curfew so at 11:00 they turned the houselights on. They kept playing for two more songs.

Wow when I was 6, they played at my campus. I never knew that. Wouldn't mind them coming back. I call front row. It's safe to say I'm the biggest PJ fan here on campus. My buddy and I are planning on spray painting this huge rock we have "PJ20" when the weather gets warmer.

Believe it or not - Savage used to get some good acts. That year, it started with PJ the day before class started on a Sunday night - during the fall they had Bush, Goo Goo Dolls, Smashing Pumpkins, Dave Matthews Band during Winter finals week, and Rush was scheduled but canceled due to health reasons - they had a ton of huge country acts to but I cannot recall who played. There was some show - like Pantera or something - when Savage just got pummeled - they stopped having concerts for about a year. I don't think much good other than country acts have been there since. I want pictures of the Rock. That will be sweet.

Metallica played savage my freshman year. i was poor and broke. at the time, alot of bands came thru savage. with the remodel you would think they would be able to get more.

they only show i ever saw there was Kiss back in 2000. major thunderstorm during the show.

I was just thinking about this because of yesterdays ticket fiasco.

I remember calling that phone number and repeatedly getting busy signals. Then every now and then, it would start ringing, then cut off.

I got shut out, but the day of the show found out i was going because my buddy's brother gave his ticket up because he was hung over!! :o Alcohol FTW!!!!!!!!!!!:mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen: :ugeek:

There really was a lot of great shows it seems. Last year, my freshman year, OAR came to play, but I didn't see them b/c after they changed the way they played and went pop I lost interest.

Too bad Eddie couldn't come to C-bus and play at the Lifestyles Pavilion. Like a small blossom.

If he came to Ohio he needs to play the Newport on campus, dirty & awesome to see a show at!!! The LC is cool, but rather see Pearl Jam/Ed in a small venue because I never have before!

oo that would be cooler. I have never been to the Newport. I have been to the Agora in Cleveland. Do you think it's similar in stature?

  • Going to Detroit from Canton...probably going up the night before....catch the Tigers game on Sunday, cant wait.

Savage Hall in '96 was also my first PJ show.....I was 17 at the time, I had general admission tickets, which was the floor that night. I started the night about 30-35 feet from the stage, fought my ass off to get into the front row....stayed there for the remainder of the show...directly in front of Ed.....what a memory.

I was at that show as well. You were right near me, I was in the front near Stone. Was a great first show to go to.

I guess the Newport used to be called the Agora here too. Might be owed by the same people, not sure tho....Newport holds about 2500 people no chairs, a balcony but that's it. Shows there rock!!
