I thought the one on the Christmas Single had strings. I could be wrong. It's on the Reign Over Me film soundtrack. Maybe that's #3. I thought that was the same as the version released on the christmas single but I may be wrong. Version #2 might have just been a radio station playing it.

It´s strange but the Soundtrack for the film didn´t feature the cover or any of the song in the movie.

I am uploading the songs so you can see the difference.
I thought that was agreed upon between PJ and the movie studio that the song wouldn't appear on the soundtrack as they were releasing it as the 10C Christmas single.

There was a "score", but no soundtrack. On the score it says in big print that the Pearl Jam song was NOT on the disc. But the version from the film is out there and could be one of those 3 versions.

i'm not sure if it was on the soundtrack, but in the movie it played during the end credits.

i think the "official" version was available for download on itunes or rhapsody.

AFAIK, there were three "official" versions.

    1.) w/o intro... appeared on X-mas single.
2.) full version w/ piano intro... iTunes and promo CD only ($$$). Also appears in the bonus features of ROM DVD.
3.) full version w/o vocals. Appeared on movie website.
