My wife and I are newlyweds. We're headed to the Eddie Vedder concert at the Terrace Theater in Long Beach in July. We are huge fans of the ocean. She's only seen it once and I just a few times. Could anybody suggest an area nearby that would be somewhat private on a beach? "Meaning a less populated beach area/location" Are there any good restaurants, site seeing spots? Thank you for your time
By the way we are the biggest PJ fans out there. All we listen to is PJ. We've tried other bands but nobody compares. We've both been listening since the beginning. Peace

Nothing super private but I really like Sunset Beach which is nearby. Seal Beach is good as well. Other places to check out are the Queen Mary; I really like the Aquarium of the Pacific. Downtown at the Pike is a good spot with restaurants and whatnot.0

Thank you so much. The Queen Mary seems like quite the adventure. Lots of history. We'll have to look up Seal beach that sounds awesome.kasedoug wrote:Nothing super private but I really like Sunset Beach which is nearby. Seal Beach is good as well. Looks like you have a good idea where to check out while your here. Good luck, and have fun. I'll be at the LB show with my bro. Lots of places to eat and hang out around the theatre too if your cool with that too. But definetly head south for some good beach views.0

its either private and little to no stores/restaurants - or not so private (crowded) beaches have lots of shops around and eateries. most beaches close at midnight or before, some at sun down. and for the good restaurants, Yelp it! Shopping is everywhere all over socal. these are only beaches I would suggest to vistors in this area.
private / quiet beach: Laguna Beach (about 40 mins from LBC) depends on time of day, but evenings is pretty quiet, nice view and cliffs and stuff. few shops, few restaurants
waves : Newport Beach (about 30 mins from LBC) - if your gonna surf, go to the Wedge
Tons of beachfront shops/eateries: Venice Beach (about 20 mins)
Fishing: Redondo/Long Beach
i dont think you can swim in the water anywhere from Long Beach to Pacific Palisades (north) - the water is nassssty! other than that factor, you really cant go wrong with any beach, and with the exception of surfing at Newport - I would Long Beach has the most stuff (lots of attractions, restaurants, bars, shopping, historical stuff, etc) in one area and Venice is not far and is a must see!0 -
Take the ferry or helicopter over to Catalina Island. It's a beautiful little place!0
