Sorry for slacking for a week or so. Here's our last list: the Oughties, Zeroes, whatever. Tough decade, with the coming of age of indie music and no real overriding trend, such as Grunge in the 90s.
Have fun!

I posted this on Facebook last year and will just copy and paste it here. Since you are asking for one per artist, I'd take out Neon Bible and throw in Pearl Jam's S/T (Avocado).
Listed alphabetically:
Ryan Adams Heartbreaker - Four words. Come. Pick. Me. Up. Sure there's more. I'm not really going to put an album on here because of one song am I?
Arcade Fire Funeral - I cannot praise this album enough. One of the best debut albums ever created.
Arcade Fire Neon Bible - The only band to appear twice, this album may actually be a little more consistent than their debut and completely destroys any fear of a sophomore slump.
The Dresden Dolls Yes, Virginia - Nobody knows how much I like this album. Until now.
The Flaming Lips Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots - They hit an all-time creative peak with The Soft Bulletin and this album continues that mix of weirdness with catchy melodies.
R.E.M. Accelerate - This proves that they can still make an incredible album if they want to. Easily the most biased pick on this list but I don't care because it's that good.
Sufjan Stevens Come on Feel the Illinoise - I actually bought this album solely based on the fact that it was the highest scored album of 2004 according to Metacritic. I'm not usually that shallow but I soon found out why it was #1.
The Strokes Is This It - It's not often that a band can match the hype and "internet buzz" of this day and age, but this debut album made it seem like they were truly worth it.
The White Stripes White Blood Cells - Jack White was easily the busiest man of the last 10 years as it takes both hands to count the albums he made with various projects. This one however really put him (and this band) on the musical map.
Wilco Yankee Hotel Foxtrot - Not bad for an album that got them dropped from their record label for not having any "hits". Of the four albums they put out during this time, this one shows a band not afraid to take risks in creating sounds and stylings that are completely their own.0 -

So far Pearl Jam is batting .444 in making it onto peoples' lists. Is it that the quality of music in general was so high, or that Pearl Jam slipped up that much, in people's opinions? (I think PJ's music stayed incredible, personally.)Spectrum 10/27/09; New Orleans JazzFest 5/1/10; Made in America 9/2/12; Phila, PA 10/21/13; Phila, PA 10/22/13; Baltimore Arena 10/27/13; Phila, PA 4/28/16; Phila, PA 4/29/16; Fenway Park 8/7/16; Fenway Park 9/2/18; Asbury Park 9/18/21; Camden 9/14/22; Las Vegas 5/16/24; Las Vegas 5/18/24; Phila, PA 9/7/24; Phila, PA 9/9/24; Baltimore Arena 9/12/24; Pittsburgh 5/16/25; Pittsburgh 5/18/25

I hadn't started the new one because I still haven't figured out my list (although apparently I did it about a year ago). I'm a little young to be senile, right?
