Why wouldn't the EV shows be seniority based?

Seems like if someone has been a member for a real long time this should be the number one perk. My 170xxx number usually pulls some great seats. I think I may go the tm route

i guess cos this is solo shows..and i think is right..he start played solo shows 3 years back...nothing to do with the whole band and how they run their ticket thing..im pretty sure was Eddie choice not be based by senority.
from the other hand maybe 10c cant guarantee the good seats cos of the small venues??

Guess he didn't want to see that same few faces at the front every night.

But I do recall hearing someone say pearl jam have to pull a lot from promoters and venues to secure the best seats in the house for ten club and alot of the time it costs them money. Maybe Ed alone doesn't have the same pull or cause they are much smaller venues then pearl jam shows it's not worth the extra cut the promoters/venues take for the fan club to get those tix, and even a not so great ten club seat in a small venue is still way better then a 20th row in an enormodome.

Fan club seat seemed pretty good to me the two nights I saw him in Chicago a few years back. It was all fan club in the first 20 rows.

Why go ticketmaster unless you have too? 10Club seats will still be the best in the house, its just random seating inside the 10club seats. Your not gonna get top row with 10Club.

The OP is talking about seniority, not the allocation of 10C seats as a whole. The Ten Club seats at EV shows are top-notch just as they are at Pearl Jam concerts, and as a generalization, it is quite difficult to pull a seat on Ticketmaster that is as good as what Ten Club can provide!

Edit: Please ignore - this info is not true as of Aussie tour and forward!

I suggest you read some of the posts about 10C seating for the EV aussie tour. 10c seats were spread all over the venues and randomly allocated. No question that some will score better seats via the venue or TM than they will with the 10c. Some of those venues will have member pre-sales as well (which I found is a great way to get good seats if you dont mind paying for a membership).

Not true at all. Every Ed tour the tix have been randomly spread throughout the venues. And on this Aussie tour the majority of people who purchased tickets from the general public sale had better tickets then ten club members. With only a few scattered amongst the 1st 4 or 5 rows but the bulk of ten clubbers seemed to be 10 th row and back, even a fair few in the upper levels of the venues.

Edit: and from this last tour announcement for the upcoming U.S tour:

"Ten Club tickets for the EV solo tour will NOT be seniority based. Tickets are being held in unspecified locations throughout the venues. Seat allocation will be chosen at random and will also be chosen in advance of the performance date. Lining up outside the venue early will not affect on your seat location. "

He wouldn't. You can only buy tickets to one show.

I absolutely spoke too soon based on what I had seen to be true in past EV tours, my apologies!

  • So I went to LA during the first EV solo tour and I remember the no seniority thing.....but I don't remember the "locations will be scattered throughout the venue" part. Does anyone know if they did best seats in the house or locations scattered throughout the venue for the last EV tour? I got really lucky last time. As huge fans, we all want the best seats possible, so I think this will drive a lot of people to buy fan club tickets and general tickets.....wait until you get to the venue and collect the 10C seats....sell the worst of the two pairs at the door.

Not really what I want to deal with, but with the possibility of getting better tickets via TM, what else can we do?

Well i've seen him 4 times, 3 of which thru 10C seating.

I can say that my 10C seats were always fantastic. I wasn't in the first 2-3 rows, i think each time i was maybe 6-10 rows back...but those are terrific seats in my books.

I have no problem with the EV shows not being seniority based, but i would hope that all 10 clubbers would get good seats. I would definitely be dissapointed if my 10C seats ended up being on the balcony.

i would say it's based on the smaller venues...there's a little less than 3000 seats at the tower theatre in philly, the show will sell out in 10 seconds. the pre-sale just gets you in without the mad TM scramble, and probable dissappointment.

only on the 1st day of ticket sales, if there is any thing left by the second you can get tix for other shows, if there is any left. and i guess that's a big if.

but has it been like that for the previous U.S. solo tours? you could get tickets to as many shows as wanted for this aussie tour.
