In "I'm Just A Girl" her voice sounds worse than nails on a chalkboard...more like minnie mouse huffing helium. Seriously, when I'm in a store and Spiderwebs or another crap song comes on, my ears try to revolt and leave my body. It's terrible. I've tried to get past it but I just cannot. It's almost a phobia.

I enjoy John Lennon's music, as well as his message, but when I listen to the Beatles, it does nothing for me. I was told that I might like some of the more trippy stuff, maybe I haven't heard it, but nothing has moved me. I don't hate them, I'm just not turned on by their music. :?

there is a beatles song/album for everyone.
I'm sorry but statements like this really rile me. Why is such a prerequisite of life to like The Beatles? How can you suggest that people aren't fans of rock music just because they don't like them? That's pretty nonsensical. I don't hate them, I just don't like their music at all, it bores me, it's nothing special to me. I don't feel I need to justify my record collection as a result of this either.
Yes, they may have had a influence on a lot of bands, but nearly all of them? Doubtful. It's been over 40 years since they were making music - I would be worried if bands were not looking at more recent times for their influences, rather than all using the same one.
no need to get riled up. i never said you have to like the beatles. i just said i don't understand how you can hate them. there's a big difference. would you say you hate the beatles? doubt it. that's what this thread is about. "bands you can't stand". i can understand not feeling a connection to their music. or being bored with it. that's understandable. they haven't made music together in over 40 years...but to hate them is going a little far.................just my perspective. obviously the haters are gonna hate. but inside, i know they know they're full of shit.
So are you saying that *bands one can't stand* and *HATING* a band are the same thing? To me hate is a very strong word and i really don't to use it at all. Yes the Beatles I can't stand they are NOT going to be the first band I'm going to choose from my collection (I do have several of their albums) if I decided to go back to the 60's and play and I'm from the early 60's. I grew up hearing some of their music but over the years and felt they were overrated....many give them credit as IF they are Holy Grail of rock music. Also if you don't like them something must be mentally wrong with you. I don't hate them they are just not my first choice hear or do I feel compelled to listen to them. The same could be said for the band RUSH, however I respect peoples dislike of that band and leave it at as such. Somebody plays The Beatles for me I'm willing to listen.
If I was to go as far as to *hate* their music (which I wouldn't) I would never ever like them individually. I was once a DJ and I just about love all music INCLUDING country.
I started out this thread disliking Bon Jovi but I really do like the song *Wanted Dead Or Alive* but BJ will be one of the last bands I'll choose to listen to and that also includes the Beatles.

Amazing what a dramatic decline that band took. Hot Fuss is one of my favorite albums of the decade. Sam's Town is just ok. I will admit it, Day and Age wasn't their best album, but Sam's Town was!!! One of my favorite albums of all time!! I will say though, A Dustland Fairytale from their latest album is their best song ever!

I'll have to check it out. Last time I listened to Day & Age I thought every single song sucked.
