I mean, I know its not, but seriously...what if it was? When they say "we will all be happy," what if that means a 72 date world-wide tour? As in, 20-30 US dates and nearly as many international dates? Wouldn't that be fucking nuts?

Agh...wishful thinking... World Tour? Will I wake up happy??? :D:D

There was a time not too long ago where this band used to do 72 date US TOURS!

well someone did say "we will all be happy", but i've just realized that it was on sirius radio, and the (official; live) audience is 100% US since they don't broadcast to the rest of the world, so i guess "we will all" was meant for the US audience...
EV tour coming up shortly on your emails ;)

Hmmm.........how long ago are you talking?

They haven't done that many shows in the US on a tour since before Vs. came out.

Uh...no... try Binaural and Riot Act. Yield too if I had to guess. It was only from Avocado on that they started playing these pussy little tours that last a couple of weeks and only hit the coasts.

OK, slight exaggeration. Avocado lasted more than a couple weeks. But they sure skipped over a hell of a lot, and that was the new formula for every tour since. Look up the tour dates for Binaural. Or Riot Act. Now THOSE were fucking TOURS!

Uh no, 2000 tour was 72 worldwide with only 45 something being in the US. Same with 2003 tour.

I'm being pedantic, and just pointing out that while those US tours are bigger then what they've done recently, it was not 72 that you were thinking just in the US.

I love the way you think, OP!

As long as they don't announce a world tour, come all the way to Australia and then not jump the ditch to NZ and give no reasoning whyyyyy

    you hear me Ed??

something tells me I"m not gonna be "happy" at the announcement - well, I'll be happy for all of you in the US anyway

the band played more shows in 2006 than 98, 00, and 03. in fact 2006 was the 3rd highest number of shows in the bands history

Lol not even close... the first 25 of 2000 were in Europe
2003 the first 15 were Australia and Japan, and 5 of the remaining shows were in Canada and Mexico City
2006, About half the tour was overseas

I stand corrected. :) I was forgetting about the beginning of 2000 with the Europe dates, and 2003 with Australia & Japan. I just remember the 72 bootlegs!

Still, they played a LOT more US dates back then, all over the country. 2006 might have had a lot of shows, but there really were not that many in the states. It's like their tour here was in 3 week blocks or something like that, and the ignored the entire middle of the country. Europe etc has gotten a lot of tours the past few years.

The other difference was pre-06 they told us the ENTIRE tour all at once. Not a couple shows here and a couple shows there.

It's an Ed US tour announcement. No other announcement would make much sense right now. Then sometime in April we will get the PJ20 announcement.

I think everyone knows its Ed US tour announcement but it does no harm to speculate does it? A world tour wouldn't be the strangest announcement would it! Other bands/act would be announcing tours now for gigs in December or next year so it could happen. But just not with Pearl Jam :lol::lol::lol:

    Those were the days.

The Avocado tour may have had a lot of shows, but a lot of them were multi-night stops in only a few cities and several were as the opening band for Tom Petty. That tour was pathetic compared to what have done before and to what most bands do all the time. And the Backspacer "tour" was a joke.
