I'm grateful that pj20 is even happening and I feel as though I'm in the minority. I don't feel like I 'deserve' a chance to experience this and that it 'should' be in a place that holds a hundred thousand people, or it 'has to be' right next to an airport, and within drunk stumbling distance to a hotel.
Carpool, split rooms, road trip, camp, find one of the thousands of fellow fans going and work it out.
Life doesn't always work out the exact way we'd like. But fucking suck it up and be thankful that we have this opportunity. Think of all the people that don't even have the slightest shot in hell to go... There are plenty of people struggling to keep the heat on in their house, or paying for obscene hospital bills while caring for their sick kid, or the fans that don't reside in the continuous US and how difficult this whole thing becomes for them, or getting out of their war-stricken country isn't even an option.
I'm sitting here listening to Ain't talking 'bout love while giving blood, and its just one fine example of how fucking fantastic of a band Pearl Jam is and how great of an experience their shows are.... I feel as though its a privilege to attend a show.
Let's not lose sight as to what the hell is going on- sitting in a field, an arena, a hill, a stadium- those that want to be there and can be there, will. Its better than missing it because of your dillusional attitude towards the whole thing. Everyone needs to sit back, roll one and relax. I'm pretty sure that the band wants this to be an 'experience', and those with the right attitude will have just that.
Long story short- life sucks, get over yourselves. Fuck!
Not only are you lovely but you also very smart and very right.
Good times, folks. All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow

As I've always referred to the 'off concert season', its like having to sleep in the wet spot.............. But, I suppose those not attending the show won't have that problem.

Nothing against the OP, in fact I agree with most of what's she's saying, but I think nellysbabe is pretty cool. Now can somebody just put a picture of Rodney King in this motherfucker?
EDIT: Great, my first picture post is a dude known for driving like a maniac on PCP and getting beaten by cops. Fitting.0 -

I know Ed is touring but is PJ touring around North America this year? That will have a big impact on my obsession with going to a place far away with no campfires. Wish there was more info so we didn't all have to speculate. Although some of it has been entertaining. I think the BIG deal with PJ20 is the special event of it being multi-band and multi-day. Some fans may feel better knowing there are other opportunities to see them this year, however, especially if finances are tight for travel/hotel/tix etc.0

Didn't mean to start a similar thread ...just tired of all the negative bullshit. There's going to be an epic event this summer, and alot of us are pretty psyched for this event. For those of you who can't swing it this summer, those of us at the show will miss you & will catch you on the next trip!0 -
