Tres. Mountains -- Philly Roll Call

So is everyone going to Dobbs or Irish Pol or is it mixed? I was going to try and get to Dobbs around 6:30ish. Probably wearing a PJ 10c hoodie, maybe an Eagles jacket. Oh yeah you are allowed to bring umbrellas inside if you don't want to get wet

My buddy and I were driving past the TLA, while looking for parking, when my buddy said, "Uhhhhh. Is that Mike McCready?" Sure enough it was. He was just outside signing and shooting the shit with fans. This was about 6:50pm? My buddy rolled down the window and yelled to Mike something along the lines of, "Mike! You rock!" He said, "Hey thanks man...Nice car." After he said that, a couple people around him chuckled. I don't know if he was being serious or making a joke. I was driving my GMC Terrain. I hope he was being sincere, and not making fun of my ride! Who knows.

Anyway, after finding parking we walked over to the venue to see if McCready was still outside chilling. Unfortunately, he wasn't. We decided to walk down to Paddy Whacks to get some grub and a few beers before the show. On our short walk down the street I spotted Jeff. I politely asked him if I could grab a quick picture, which he happily said, "No problem." We then talked with him about the Ireland shows last summer as well as the 4-night Spectrum run and a couple other shows we had attended. My buddy mentioned the Hartford show we went to last year and Jeff said, "That was a killer show." My buddy said, "You guys covered Van Halen that night." He said, "That's right! We did. That was Eddie's idea. I told him I didn't even know how to play it, but we went with it anyway. That was crazy."

it was awesome wasn't it? great that it was so intimate

here is my Tres Mts Meeting MIKE story

when we were first driving down South St looking for parking we drove by the TLA and Mike was out front chatting and taking photos...and we were like LOOK is that Mike????....crap, we're gonna miss him, and then we had to find parking and when we got back he wasn't out there any longer. So we went into Dobbs for a couple of beers..and friends.

At some point we all heard that Jeff was next door and some of the girls went out to find him but I stayed behind w my friends. We figured then that our time had passed.

We waited until about 8 to walk a couple of doors down to the TLA..and talking about how we wished we'd been out there in time to meet Mike and/or Jeff...not really paying attention to anything else around us. So, as we make it to TLA and as we're ready to walk in, who do I spot but Mike....and having not expected him to be out again, and so surprised that he was actually standing there right in front of me...I was just soooooooo excited and I just opened my arms wide like I was going to rush-hug him...and screamed "OHHH MIKE!!!!" and then I kinda caught myself and thought oh geez now he's gonna cringe....like I'm not his long lost friend or anything...but what did he do? He just motioned me the rest of the way over to him (I was only a couple of feet away anyway) and opened his arms wide in return and gave me a big hug. Then...and I still hadn't figured out what was actually happening...my friend Joe appears...and that was awesome..and we got a couple of pix together..the 3 of us. Chatted a little bit, just a little, and at some point Mike made a comment about finally being with both the Joe's or in a Joe sandwich or something like that...and of course I blabbered about how excited I was to see him still outside..etc. etc. I can't really remember (so much for all the stuff I "THOUGHT" i was gonna say if I got the chance)....ANYWAY ..it turns out..that JOE had been strolling South Street with Mike...having met up with him on his way back to the venue, and they had both showed up pretty much the same time that we did. How cool is that? Joe..you da man! Anyway, I had heard for all these years, as we all do, about how accessible and down to earth and cool the guys are..especially Mike..but its not the same as actually KNOWING it first hand. Thank you MIKE..for making my night so extra special. Heck..my freakin' YEAR!! (Maybe longer hahaahahaaa) (and at my age..right? just like a little kid i was...am :roll: )

And....the show ROCKED!!! It's a must see..even if you don't love love love the album..you WILL love the show. Guaranteed! They are so obviously enjoying playing together so much, and giving each other the space and freedom they need to shine, while still being tight as hell the entire time. It was over the top excellent.

And that's my story.

nice stories. I didnt meet any band member... I dont know what I would say though. I would also curse myself because I didnt bring a camera.

Mike's side rocked so hard. Jeff looked like he was having a blast. I got to meet all the band members after the show EXCEPT for Jeff and Mike haha. Waited out front for about an hour and then heard he slipped out the back. Got there late, still had a blast.

I was kind of surprised how calm the crowd was for such an upbeat show. (With the exception of Mike's side.) He got everyone within a 20 yard radius into it with him last night. Quite the showman. Had a great time at such a small venue. Wish I could catch them in NY!

Yep, front row in front of Mike. There were only like 10 of us out front before they opened the doors. I figured I'd see you there. Mike was out front hanging with everyone for like 7-10 minutes before he left to have a cocktail with the boys. Mike signed my wife's Team McCready decal and gave her a pick as well as her getting a pic with him. He gave me a Tres Mts. sticker after the show. Shook his hand, touched pretty much every guitar he used last night. Got to shake Dug's hand after the show as well.

Unreal. Also met Richard before the show. His wife and son were with him and he was such a cool guy.
