It's nuts to me that Matt can be in two incredible bands from the same era at the same time. And... a full time member at that. That's like being in Led Zepplin...AND The Who.

I get that SG may be short lived and is considered his side project... FOR NOW...but still. He is one lucky... AND BUSY dude.

    BADASS!

It really is surreal. I think with Pearl Jam's slowed down touring pace, Soundgarden can be active for a long time, obviously on a smaller scale than they used to be though.

I have more interest in Sesame Street on Ice.:lol::lol: They are the one Seattle band I just couldn't stomach.

That's awesome! Missed out on SG in the 90s as I was a little kid, would be unbelievable if I got the chance to see them, all these years later! :)

I saw soundgarden a couple times in the early 90's and they rocked. Saw them again at Lola '97 and Cornell didn't sound very good. After seeing him with Audioslave in 2005 trust me when I say the Soundgarden reunion tour will be one and done. Unless maybe the band follows in his footsteps and goes the dance music route.

I think the success of Soundgarden's new album will determine their future.

I forgot that commercial success equals a great live show. All i'm saying is that his voice live is nowhere near where it once was. Yah I know, everybody gets older, but his was cracking during some songs back in '05. Anybody can be made to sound "good" in the studio.

Yeah Cornell's voice does sound rough on live Audioslave videos I've seen. I saw him live though in 2007 twice though and he sounded better, obviously not like he did during his prime, but not totally shot like he was in Audioslave. Even with a depleted voice, I am excited to see one of my favorite bands live for the first time.

Also there is a post from March 5th on the velvetrope.com forum that I just saw that the tour will kick off on June 22nd and will last 6 weeks. My source didn't inform me of a start date, but I was told there will be lots of touring in July so the start date could be true. Makes sense since Eddie will be touring around this time.

I saw Soundgarden back in the day and they were great. There should be a Temple / Soundgarden reunion at PJ20. It's a sin if that doesn't happen.

Also saw Chris Cornell solo a few years ago, his voice sounds unbelievable live. As with all of us, I think he's gotten better with age. Staying "grunge" would have left him far behind :)
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!

So true. I saw Audioslave in San Diego for Lollapalooza and I felt like my ear drums were being tortured.

Some peoples voices just drive people crazy. Cornell has never sounded good to me even in his prime. I have nothing against the music, I just can't stand his voice. Which is why I stop Hunger Strike every time before he starts screaming. I just got shivers thinking about it.

Trust me, I don't think people are wrong for liking them, in fact I think the band kicks ass. Just not for me.

That about sums it up for me. Never was a big Soundgarden fan. Never liked Cornell much. Tolerated Audioslave only because I liked Rage.

My wife on the other hand loves him.

But if they make it here I will go see them.

Absolutely. You have to go with the wife to what she likes. That's a cardinal rule. The only thing I got a pass on was, she is reliving her 13 year old dream and she is seeing NKOTB with her friend. hahahahahahahaha

I definitely dodged a bullet there. hahahahahahaha

I was lucky enough to see Soundgarden's Lolla warmup show at the Vic. I'm probably biased since I was about ten feet from the stage, but his voice sounded great. I agree that their upcoming album will be telling of what future success they may have.
