Top 25 Boldest Career Moves in Rock

http://www.rollingstone.com/music/lists ... r-19691231

Pearl Jam's 1991 debut Ten transformed the band into one of the biggest bands in the world, largely fueled by MTV playing their videos for "Jeremy" and "Even Flow" around the clock. When it came time for the follow-up LP Vs. the band decided to downscale the band's ambitions, beginning by refusing to make music videos. The album still sold by the millions, but by 1994 they took an even harder stance by refusing to perform in Ticketmaster venues. Both decisions made reaching a massive audience difficult and they began selling fewer and fewer records, but their fanbase remained incredibly loyal and they continue to pack every venue they play – though they have long since reversed both decisions.

I don't think I'd say "they've long since reversed both decisions"... I am not aware of PJ putting out many music videos since Jeremy. At least not any that anyone not on this board would've ever seen.

And would anyone not on this board have ever seen any of these? Maybe DTE, but that's it. The only way someone would've seen those is if they were specifically trying to see PJ videos, not on regular music TV. And if I'm wrong,

Music on TV shows and sountracks, the Target commercial and corporate concert, media interviews, playing all TM venues (Not that they have much of a choice on this one).....I'd say they have changed quite a bit.

No because MTV and VH1 stopped playing videos. They have made them though.
