Eddie Vedder and Stone Temple Pilots in Sydney
Does anyone think Eddie and STP will meet up when they'll both be in Sydney this Sunday 20th (and possibly till next Wednesday 23rd)? Is Eddie mates with any of them?
Sunday 20th will be Eddie's last night playing in Sydney and the first for STP. Then STP play again on Tuesday 22nd in Sydney. STP next play on Wednesday 23rd in Brisbane and Eddie on Thursday 24th in Melbourne.
It would be great if they hooked up and did a secret gig together. Anyway I can dream. Here's hoping...

I've heard Weiland praise Pearl Jam on many occasions and in interviews..
I don't know what Ed thinks vice versa though..

I think after 18 years he might have gotten over it
STP and Scott are friends with all the other Pearl Jam guys except for Eddie, this is a quote from Scott on Pearl Jam about the ripoff comparisons (not sure when it was exactly, probably a little while ago now), "That was tough to take, and also kinda odd because Pearl Jam went through the same thing when they first came out,But we're friends with all the guys from Pearl Jam, except Eddie. He's kind of a loner, although Stone [Gossard, guitarist] and Mike [McCready, lead guitarist] always come to see us when we play Seattle." It's a shame the ripoff stuff ever was talked about because STP recorded quite a few Core songs on their 1990 Mighty Joe Young demo tape, including "Wicked Garden," which proves their sound was formulated before they could have possibly even heard Pearl Jam. Listen closely to Core and you will understand that Scott's big influences at the time were Jim Morrison/James Brown/country.

Back in 1992 at Lollapalooza STP and Pearl Jam were both playing and STP bassist Robert DeLeo introduced himself to Eddie and Chris Cornell and they ignored him and blew him off which pissed Robert off. Robert and Eric from STP are big surfers so maybe they'll run into Ed at the beach and Robert and Eddie can resolve their 19 year awkward encounter.
I'll admit that hearing about Scott and Eddie meeting/getting along would put a stupid grin on my face since they're two of my favorite musicians ever.
"During the time when the Beatles were recording Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, the Monkees were touring England; the Beatles hosted a party for them. The meeting partially inspired the line in the Monkees' tune "Randy Scouse Git," written by Dolenz, which read, "the four kings of EMI are sitting stately on the floor." Nesmith attended the "A Day in the Life" sessions at Abbey Road Studios; he can be seen in the Beatles' home movies, including one scene where he is conversing with John Lennon (who called him Monkee Man, and would go on to call the group the "Marx Brothers of Rock").
Dolenz was also in the studio during a session, which he mentioned while broadcasting for WCBS-FM in New York (incidentally, he interviewed Ringo Starr on his program). Paul McCartney can be seen in the 2002 concert film Back in the U.S. singing "Hey, Hey, We're The Monkees", the theme from The Monkees show, while backstage."
haha "Monkee Man"

TRUTH!
You can hate STP all you want, but they didn't rip off Pearl Jam.
Also to whoever mentioned the DeLeo/Chad Smith thing talking about it that sounds interesting.
I will hate them all I want, thanks.
But it's all just musical opinion, I don't have anything against the dudes in STP, I don't know them. Just never thought their music was worth much. Glad they do it for you, right on.

Well mate I guess you've got to start sometime. It's never too late.
I wonder if there are others out there like me! I bet there are.
They put on a great live show - Weiland is a great frontman.
