Just got off the phone with a source that said Eddie is coming to Providence for a solo show. No clue what the date is but it's nice to see he is spreading out where he is playing.

Dunks would be cool but maybe too big. Is the Strand still around? Or Lupos? That would be the shit.
  • mcthudmcthud Posts: 366
Please, Dear GOD don't let it be Lupos. I'm pulling for PPAC here.

Hah! Nah, man. I'm actually in Needham now, but that place hasn't been around for a couple of years from what I understand. Guy I used to work with asked me about it a couple of years back and was really bummed. Said he used to go out there from Brockton to look at all the train set stuff with his old man as a kid.

haha I remember watching Spiderman as a cartoon on WXNE 25 in the 80s and they'd always run ads during the show for that store. In fact Chronicle just ran a piece on Moody Street a week or two ago on local channel 5.

I agree PPAC is way too small. But the Dunk is way too big. It's my understanding that all of EV's solo tours have been done with a very intentional sense of intimacy in play. The Dunk (aka Providence's basement) would stifle the hell out of that.

My bet: On the somewhat outside chance that Ed plays Providence, PPAC on the 15th.

Moody Street is a good time. Had a lot of fun living a drunken stumble from The Skellig for 2 years. I'll have to look up that chronicle ep. and see if they stream it on their site.

Seriously, consider it a compliment, you just made this displaced Bostonian a little homesick with that post ...

    Congrats on the show, folks.

+ 80,000,000 I'd go to Boston before I saw Eddie at Lupos but then this isn't 1992.

Is PPAC larger than Vets Memorial Auditorium?

    PPAC seating capacity is 3090 - http://static.ppacri.org/documents/PPAC_Tech_Specs.pdf

Are you talking about the memorial auditorium in Plymouth, Ma?

No Vets Memorial in Providence, it's smaller than PPAC.

I would HATE if Ed played in Manchester. The verizon center is the worst sounding arena ever. Hampton Beach would be nice. I would say Portland, ME would be a good place to come as well. Portsmouth music hall would be a better choice.

But I might be bias but the Orpheum would be a great place to see Ed! It would be heaven all over again 17 years later....

If he comes to Portland I might faint. Seeing him at the newly reopened State Theater would be incredible.
