if you have nothing nice to say, then perhaps just be silent. maybe wait for the album to get released, then form an opinion. just don't bash the uke and eddie for playing one - give thanks instead.
Looking forward to new stuff definitely, but I do hope there's more than just the uke (and a cello), like Hard Sun or Better Days. But I'll take what I can get!
I just think if he chose to do an entire uke album, it was a poor choice. That's not just my opinion. We'll let the record sales speak for themselves.
And don't give me that "he transcends record sales MAAAAAAAN. He's above all that petty stuff." Wake up and smell his net worth people. Ed likes some money. He doesn't want this cd to flop. I just don't like the idea. And I don't give a shit if you think I'm not "cultured" because I refuse to listen to watered down ballads. I'm still a fan...but not of that junk. Sue me.
wow.
DO you know how much work goes into an album? its quite obvious Ed loves the uke and is making tha music HE wants to make. It is not a poor choice, and yes, that is opinion.
Glad to know that you know Ed personally enough to know he likes "some money".
You really don't have a clue about creating music.
You can download the mp3 of this by hitting the refresh button on their page. If you time it right all you have to do is right click when the opportunity pops up. It may take a couple refreshes but it works. Now I can play it on my stereo. Yeah!!! Can't wait for the rest.

To be honest, when I found out Into the Wild was acoustic, I wasn't really into it. I played it a few times, and now I love it. It's just an emotionally raw and honest little record that connects on a different level than in your face PJ songs. I think, similar to when Merkin Ball came out after I became obsessed with Vitalogy, it was a bit of a let down for me. I wanted more hard rock-type songs. Jangly music was not doing it for me. Fast forward to 2009, after a few more years, and a lot of hard times, I finally got it. The point is, there's no reason to dismiss songs right off the bat. Maybe it takes time, maybe personal trauma, whatever. If this solo uke album never clicks with you, then, there's other stuff out there that might.
Also, I don't understand the negativity and taking things too personally. I understand we're all passionate about this band, but please, there's no need for all the hostility.
what the hell happened to this thread?? Some ppl on this board are so lame and uncouth! It all began with some speculation and discussion as to our ideas as to what the album is gonna be like and what everyone has heard so far. There was specific instruction not to post music that is in the process of being released!
It's not ok to pass around sound files of music being released. Thank you.
x
I guess some ppl just don't/can't read
Just because 10C hasn't announced things cuz you think it's time, doesn't mean you get to ruin it. No bloody wonder they don't tell us things any more!! And telling everyone how to download the mp3 is so not cool!! Way to go you impatient, immature little pricks! Can someone please lock this thread and remove all links/pix. Thanks ☮ ♥ ☯
if I keep holding out,.... will the light shine through?

someone else joins the list of people who need to chill and think before they type.
I'm very chilled, ta. Clearly you didn't think before responding or u would have come up with smthg better than an pathetic assumption as to my communication skills

Yes people may not be doing the right thing in posting links.....but really? isnt this a little strong, when we're considering people are just excited to hear a song released to radio already?
that's Mrs Aggressive, actually well, actually, I didn't mean to be aggressive exactly.
And I know it's been on the radio and is there online. I just don't like it when ppl on here are disrespectful. We were clearly told to refrain from passing things around. It's diff if we found it online of our own accord. What's left for Eddie as an artist/musician if we keep spoiling that part of the creative process that involves sharing his creations with us in a way he wants to? (soppy, yes, but at least I'm considerate).
As for the name-calling....it was kind of unness. but I don't resent it. Excited is one thing, blatant disrespect on the other hand needs calling out. And since there's no 'Naughty Corner' here on the porch, strong words are sometimes ness.

So i guess nothing else outside of Longing to Belong surfaced last night?

If its a radio promo that was reasonably widely circulated then i have no doubt it will find its way out there in the near future.

I'm planning on seeing Jake later this month when he comes to town. I'm excited! It will tide me over until I can see Eddie.
