I love the song, and I wasn't put off by the uke at all, as I feared I would be - in fact I liked where it took the thing. Really looking forward to hearing more from thisShows: 6.27.08 Hartford, CT/5.15.10 Hartford, CT/6.18.2011 Hartford, CT (EV Solo)/10.19.13 Brooklyn/10.25.13 Hartford

Off the top of my head, I think Rise was on the uke and maybe No Ceiling? I think it's a nice break to get something different. I wouldn't expect an Ed solo album to just sound the same as a PJ album.1998 - Noblesville

I have a feeling I'm absolutely going to love this new album. i like ITW, but at the same time it doesn't do a whole lot for me. there's certain situations its good to listen to, but i don't play it a whole lot.
this song though i really like. i personally think its better than anything off of itw. i'm excited for this album.0 -
This is shaping up to be a gorgeous album. Those songs were beautiful to start with, but if this arrangement is anything to go by, Eddie is kicking it up a notch, or two. Cannot wait.0

I'm looking forward to hearing some new music and the re-worked older songs. I like how he changed Longing to Belong by adding the cello like that.&&&&&&&&&&&&&&0

if you have nothing nice to say, then perhaps just be silent. maybe wait for the album to get released, then form an opinion. just don't bash the uke and eddie for playing one - give thanks instead.
and if you don't think the uke rocks-

I'm planning on seeing Jake later this month when he comes to town. I'm excited! It will tide me over until I can see Eddie.0 -
Looking forward to new stuff definitely, but I do hope there's more than just the uke (and a cello), like Hard Sun or Better Days. But I'll take what I can get!0

Rumor on the street is that another song is out there. Anyone know where a guy can find this? I'd be broken hearted if not...0

Hammerdonkey wrote:I just think if he chose to do an entire uke album, it was a poor choice. That's not just my opinion. We'll let the record sales speak for themselves.
And don't give me that "he transcends record sales MAAAAAAAN. He's above all that petty stuff." Wake up and smell his net worth people. Ed likes some money. He doesn't want this cd to flop. I just don't like the idea. And I don't give a shit if you think I'm not "cultured" because I refuse to listen to watered down ballads. I'm still a fan...but not of that junk. Sue me.
wow.
DO you know how much work goes into an album? its quite obvious Ed loves the uke and is making tha music HE wants to make. It is not a poor choice, and yes, that is opinion.
Glad to know that you know Ed personally enough to know he likes "some money".
You really don't have a clue about creating music.Pick up my debut novel here on amazon: Jonny Bails Floatin (in paperback) (also available on Kindle for $2.99)0 -

It may take a couple refreshes but it works. Now I can play it on my stereo. Yeah!!! Can't wait for the rest.* St. Louis, MO - 02 July 1998 * Chicago, IL - 09 Oct 2000 * St. Louis, MO - 11 Oct 2000

I'm really looking forward to this solo effort.
To be honest, when I found out Into the Wild was acoustic, I wasn't really into it. I played it a few times, and now I love it. It's just an emotionally raw and honest little record that connects on a different level than in your face PJ songs. I think, similar to when Merkin Ball came out after I became obsessed with Vitalogy, it was a bit of a let down for me. I wanted more hard rock-type songs. Jangly music was not doing it for me. Fast forward to 2009, after a few more years, and a lot of hard times, I finally got it. The point is, there's no reason to dismiss songs right off the bat. Maybe it takes time, maybe personal trauma, whatever. If this solo uke album never clicks with you, then, there's other stuff out there that might.
Also, I don't understand the negativity and taking things too personally. I understand we're all passionate about this band, but please, there's no need for all the hostility.0 -
what the hell happened to this thread?? Some ppl on this board are so lame and uncouth! It all began with some speculation and discussion as to our ideas as to what the album is gonna be like and what everyone has heard so far. There was specific instruction not to post music that is in the process of being released!Kat wrote:Listening to your radio stations might work.
It's not ok to pass around sound files of music being released. Thank you.

I guess some ppl just don't/can't read
Just because 10C hasn't announced things cuz you think it's time, doesn't mean you get to ruin it. No bloody wonder they don't tell us things any more!! And telling everyone how to download the mp3 is so not cool!! Way to go you impatient, immature little pricks! Can someone please lock this thread and remove all links/pix. Thanks ☮ ♥ ☯if I keep holding out,.... will the light shine through?0
