My Morning Jacket is releasing all of their old albums on June 10 on vinyl, simotaneously with the release of their new album Evil Urges. What's the chance PJ will re-release all of their records on vinyl. Fingers Crossed!!!! :?

Yes, I read somewhere with the talk of them recording their 9th studio album that they are still with J Records/Sony.

And who gives a shit about a "second pressing" record anyways? It all sounds the same when played. Unless you are only in it for the monetary investment, I guess.

Why do second pressings suck, they are cheaper and they sound the same.

Yeah, the 2nd pressings are pressed from the exact same original master that the 1st pressings were pressed from.

And sometimes, the 2nd pressings will be on higher quality (thicker) vinyl too.

I am with you; I don't understand what people who claim they are just in it for the quality of the music, have against 2nd pressing LP's.

Metallica is re-relasing everythhing too must be a new trend...and I like it. they remastered everything onto 180 gram in 45rpm for better sound too, so all the albums are double discs! Lightning and Kill'em are already sold out in the audiophile versions...PUPPETS coming soon

You've got your history wrong. Epic had always tried to get PJ to resign after their debut album, but PJ always declined. Stating as far back as Ten that they would only finish out their initial contract with Epic, which was for 7 studio albums and a greatest hits album.

Pearl Jam left Epic, not the other way around. But hell, they stayed with the parent company Sony, as J Records is still a Sony music company, just like Epic.

a version us sound snobs thinks sounds better, pay more for it, but never really hear any noticeable difference.

Audiophiles are people who like the best sound quality possible- usally addicted to high end big $$$ audio equipment.

Looks like they are only re-releasing the first two albums, At Dawn and The Tennessee Fire, but not re-releasing It Still Moves. Glad I didn't pay too much for the first two, and that I got It Still Moves on ebay recently.

OK, I didn't see ISM when I posted that but can see it on there now. Now I wish I hadn't bought that since this one is much less than I paid for the 1st pressing. I also have Z already, but it's not hard to find, and I have the Okonokos LP box set.

Next to none for PJ release...

I didn't know about MMJ though!!!

Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.
