If a flight attendant had put my toddler in the overhead locker and closed the door all hell wouldve broken loose. And no i dont tend to over react... But such behaviour is out of line. You do not put your hands on my children... Its that simple.

well that kinda sounds like an overreaction to me. this is what's wrong with the world. "don't smile at my kid, pedophile!". I fucking hate it. I feel like people are looking at me funny when I'm at the playground with my daughters and some other kid comes up to me and talks to me, like I'm supposed to be rude or something and not talk to them back. I can feel the eyes all over me, making sure I'm not doing something "inappropriate". Fuck you, paranoid idiots.
Thing is, from the article, it sounded to me like the family invited the flight attendant into play in the first place.

What toddler doesn't yell out for their parents if they are alone? What is she doing leaving him alone in a room? My daughter is 2 and a half and still does that.
my 18 month old daughter wonders around my house on her own all the time. we don't have time to constantly follow her! we just make sure all the knives and grenades are in a safe place!

He put the toddler inthe overhead locker!! Its not an over reaction. I have no qualms about people saying hi to my kids or my grand daughter... I never have. .
Im extremely familiar with the overhead lockers on virgin 737s. My daughter is a flight attendant and its the only domestic airline i fly. There is no way in hell i would ever be ok with my child being places in one, let alone being placed in one and having the door closed.
Now let me clear... Im not even talking about whether the kid suffered any trauma, im talking about the irresponsibility of the actions of all involved.

well they have said the father was playing a peek-a-boo type game with the kid "involving" the overhead locker, so to me that sounds like the kid might have already been up there. but the mum says she picked him up. not to side with a business who probably want to cover their arse, but a few other things said by the mother in the article makes me believe the airline.
to me she sounds like one of those people who slip over in a shop on purpose and sues. it's just sad that we now seem to be taking an american root and becoming an overly litigious society.

It's just wierd, and of course it's going to freak the mother out. Whether or not she's making up all the stuff about trauma and just cashing in, what is more important is that the flight attendant should have known better. Who does that? I would be pissed too.
It's sad how the whole family has been broken up by a seemingly small thing, and someone has lost their job. But it just goes to show:

As for her trauma and her child,10 seconds is nothing to a child that age ... he will only be traumatised if this silly women keeps the event alive for the drama of it all.Silly bugger :roll:
Mind you though, I might take that flight attendant aside into the next class cabin and giving his head a good slam with one of those meal trays on the back of the chairs for scaring my kid!
