What is the best way to get a pick that someone from the band tossed into the crowd? Obviously, the answer is to catch one at a show, but my number will never afford me the opportunity. I'd really like to get one, please advise.

Thank you.

Go with someone with a higher rank that buys your seat to get you at the front...first row gets the best chance....

    Good luck...

simple... let the whole floor clear out ..then run up to front and scan around quick..sure to find a few

at the newark show i went to the bathroom ..came back out as the workers were starting to clean up and found

too many..i just started giving them out outside the venue..besides the vedder ;)

I got a pick from Eddie after getting what I thought were bad seats at the side of the stage, my view point for the whole show was the back of Boom's head and the side of Stone's face. But when the band left the stage they all walked right past me and Eddie handed me a pick! It was the greatest moment for me! So your chances of getting a pick at a show just comes down to luck. :D

I agree. It's nothing but dumb luck. I managed to get up front at a show (my tenth after trying in vain for nine shows). Mike saw me and threw a pick right at me but it bounced off my chest and landed to my left. The guy next to me knew it was intended for me but he picked it up and wouldn't give it to me (thanks a lot whoever you were). Happily, I managed to get another one a little later.

What a selfish jerk the guy must be. Sorry that people act like that over a $0.01 piece of plastic :D

I got a pick at a london show, shouted up to mike at a quiet moment and he threw it down to one of the bounces and pointed to pass it to me, then gave me a thumbs up, then my brother looked at me with envy, cool moment.

Oh it was a Jeff pick by the way :D

This made me laugh as the same thing happened to me in Nijmegen last year, except that the pick hit my forehead (I was front row for the very first time of my life!) and bounced on the ground. When the security guy handed it to the girl next to me, I claimed on to it and she was sensible enough to give it to me instead.
I have to admit that I screamed like hell stating that it was meant for me and it belonged to me
We definitely do crazy things for some piece of plastic ;)

But yes, everything already said is right.. you just need to be there at the right time and the rest is mostly luck, unless some really good friends treats you, as it happened to me for some of them :)
  • I got my eddie pick (black 23) at holmel 2003. I was waiting in line to get ten club tickets and held a place in line for a girl that was waiting in front of me but walked out of the line. We ended up getting first row right next to each other. At the end of the show Eddie gave her the mic stand and it was covered with picks. She was nice enough to return the favor of holding her place in line by letting me have one of his picks. If you are out there in pj land, thank you again.
