PJ Posters - "signed and numbered" vs "limited edition" ?!
PJ Posters -
"signed and numbered"
vs
"limited edition"
?!
Hi all,
Been a PJ fan for years .....
been to 4 gigs - never thought of buying a poster at them;
but recently, have got into them - d'oh !!
Obviously missed the chance to buy hem at the gigs - so have seen soem - well, many , - on the internet, especially ebay :
just a case in point , for the latest Euro 2010 gig , i was at belfast and dublin -
on the ebay , they are advertising - for dublin 2010 poster :
"signed and numbered" , and "limited edition" - 101 of 200 , or whatever ..
also, for poland , or london , as above - "signed and numbered" , and "limited edition" - but one of 500 , etc.
my question is :
"limited edition" ??
they are all "limited edition" by definition , right - as was not made in infinite quantities
but
my real query is
"signed and numbered"
are they all "signed and numbered" ???
as in , dublin , for example as per the original advertisement :
for dublin 2010 poster :
"signed and numbered" , and "limited edition" - 101 of 200 , or whatever ..
does that mean :
1. only 200 posters were printed in TOTAL ???
2. more posters were printed, but only 200 were "signed and numbered" ??
3. are all the posters by virtue "signed and numbered" - or some are, some are not ??
the ads make it seem that some are and some are not ...
Pardon my ignorance ...
tried to search this particular issue here in the forum, and google, but no answer.
i am not too fussed about "signed and numbered" , but is it worth paying the premium for those posters....
i am not a collector - just a fan - and only want posters i was actually at, thought some not so "cool" !!
pps
is it the case where the concert posters are 'normal , and the "signed and numbered" are on the ames bros / brad klausen website ??
sorry for so many questions -
i am sure some of you can help me .
thanks !!

Without trying to read it again...
All show posters are LIMITED.
Show posters obtained at the venue are seldom if ever signed and numbered.
Signed and Numbered are usually from the artist,(ie Amesbros, Artillerydesign, etc) not always. Sometimes they are available from fan sites, such as 10C, but not often. Signed usually means tagged by the artist that made the poster, not the "artist" doin the singing. All of these, signed and numbered, or generic, turn up on the secondary market.
A/P is an artist proof. A little more valuable, as they "may" have been closely scrutinized during the printing run to make sure of no imperfections.
Hope that clears up some of your questions. I'm sure you'll get more info on this thread, there are a bunch of great poster peeps on here that will help in all sorts of ways.
Hi,
THANKS SO MUCH for that quick reply - really appreciate it !! That's why i love this forum -
yes - you did clear up soem of my queries ...
i know this is a very subjective, not objective , question :
is it worth paying over the odds more for a signed and numbered poster - not like it's a Renoir or Picasso, right ?
thanks again.
any more things i should know about poster collecting in general ??
...sigh .... just when i was getting over my PJ t-shirt addiction, this poster bug bites !!
 DON't even start me on Vinyl ....................................
then i had a baby
now i'm looking to sell my posters
buy from me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
as for the lot of 200
usually the artist will make a bunch for the band... and then 200 (or so) for themselves...
they typically sign and number these 200... making them different than the ones the band sold at the show and in the goods section... they also typically sell for $40 more than the "regular" version
if you just want the poster... go with the regular edition.. it will be cheaper than the LE / SN ones
oh and like i said... buy from me
http://www.expressobeans.com/members/co ... hp?id=5232
and if you never heard of expresso beans... it's one of the most popular poster fanatic site on the interwebs... lots of PJ peeps on there
also http://www.blackredyellow.com/ is about PJ posters
Hi Pillow Pants ....
