1) Stop asking how are you doing when you call in paaaalease...I know the screener probably tells you this before you go on the air. What happens is when you ask how are you doing they say fine then they have to be polite and ask how are you doing then in turns into a fucking how you doing fest and you wasting air time. Everyone is doing fine. If they weren't they not going say they are not. So just get into your call. I swear I feel like bashing my head into the steering wheel.

2) This one is just an observation but is it just me or do some fans just sound outright creepy? It's like the song Lukin over and over again.

  • You never got the creepy vibe around here? Lots of creepies around these parts.
  • welcome to society my friend, in society we are told to be polite and one of the ways we are taught involves asking "how are you?" i think you are the first person ever to actually criticize people for being polite. IT'S A COMMON COURTESY!!!

not to mention that in society, there are a lot of creeps around.

I totally get the "just being polite thing" but I do think saying "Hey guys, thanks for taking my call" and then going into your question would be a lot quicker and just as polite. Probably easier said than done though because I'm sure a lot of people get excited when they finally get on and the words just start coming out of their mouths fast and furious.

I've read a few posts about the female caller, but haven't yet listened to the broadcast. What did she say that was so creepy?

She just kept rambling on and on I guess. Saying that everything was 'so fucking great' and this and that. It did go on for too long and they did mention to her that they might have to cut her off. But, in her defense I'm sure she was just excited to be talking to Matt and Jeff, that's not something you get to do everyday.

I know and I get that. I was an intern for a little bit at a Chicago radio station and we would always tell people just to go straight into your question but they never listen. It's probably nerves but I would suggest that "The Rob" to have some kind of sound bite drop ready to go when someone says how are you doing. Something funny from a movie or a quote from ED.

She was awesome. She realy knew her shit. I believe she was just nervous. I do agree with the OP I felt the same way when I heard how are you for the 10th time. Its like just get to your question so I can get a chance. One more thing. People it dont hurt to practice or rehears your questions. If it dont make sense to you it wont make sense to anyone :D
Some words when spoken...Can't be taken back...

I would rather them not take any callers and just keep on playing the music. The one day I was in the car with my wife and we listened to this guy talk about something very stupid. He was asking what the band thinks about being called pj vs. pearl jam! What a waste of time. Who cares. Call them what you want..

The dj can give you a brief news update and then keep playing the music. This would eliminate the dumb questions that are asked. I find callers very annoying and pointless.
  • I think some of the questions that are asked are kind of pointless but they always seem to do a pretty good job of coming up with something interesting so say when they answer.
