Faithfully,
you take my hand and put my hat back on
I tuck myself into your sleeve
and fill your pockets with sand.
Is it possible to ride the waves of your breath
without losing myself?
Or finding myself
… drunk on whisky flavoured kisses
chased with a beer and a cigarette
The hem of my dress unstitched
to keep you warm
Occasionally lifting your face
to write a verse on.
If this isn’t the way we were meant to love
Then why do we sin with our eyes open
And pray with them closed?
you take my hand and put my hat back on
I tuck myself into your sleeve
and fill your pockets with sand.
Is it possible to ride the waves of your breath
without losing myself?
Or finding myself
… drunk on whisky flavoured kisses
chased with a beer and a cigarette
The hem of my dress unstitched
to keep you warm
Occasionally lifting your face
to write a verse on.
If this isn’t the way we were meant to love
Then why do we sin with our eyes open
And pray with them closed?
Pepper- I am faith without religion, without bruised knees and pleas for forgiveness...

Speechless here pepper.
Are you reading my mind ?
I have an interest in the bonds we human beings make which are suppose to be this journey two people find themselves evolving through but we put limits on each other. So fucked up.
I got that from this poem. It seems the outlet for comfort, companionship, for the chance to be pulled back up when you fall etc., is there but wait, a wall. Some public image we must attire too with eyes blissfully wide-eyed but closed to comfort us from the norm. Am I making sense ?
