Hey everyone,

I have been in the 10C for well over a decade now and I can't make the trip from Toronto to Tampa on June 12.

Is there anything I can possibly do?

If anyone can answer this one I would appreciate it greatly.

Thanks,
Eric

as someone said in another thread.. "hope you are hungry, cause you're eating those tickets."

unless someone looks like you and you are giving someone your ID, sounds like you are out of luck. I hope i dont run into the same situation.
I have planned a family vacation around this tour, and we havent bought airline tickets yet; my wife gets discount $40 roundtrip tickets, except we have to fly stand-by. Im going to WPB and Tampa both via 10C; hopefully I wont be eating mine too.

    Good luck.

This sucks. I spent over $1000 on a trip to SF to see Ed. If I could do Florida for a couple days I would spend maybe $400. Shit, if I could trade for NYC tix I would drive there just to see the show.

At the very least you should email the 10 club and give tell your story.
Maybe if they hear enough bitching they will realize they are ripping people off!

Also, I heard if you have a medical excuse they will help you out. So I would wait until just before the show and make up some BS medical reason you can't go and see what happens.

They are keeping the original purchasers money without giving them any alternatives if they can't physically pick up the tickets themselves.
Then the 10c resells the tickets the night of the show.

They could easily give people refunds on their credit cards and charge
a restocking fee to cover the extra expense. Getting something back
    is better than zero.

As I have stated a few times in threads on thie subject, there are ways that they can make everyone happy - ie: transfer tickets without walking in to scalping issues - but any way of doing so would cause a lot of administrative work for the 10C, which i assume they can't be bothered with.

well, they certainly can't be bothered with it until AFTER my poster issue has been resolved :D

Or they could create a waiting list as soon as 10C tix sell out and then transfer tickets to people on that list, in order, for a small admin fee (chargted to the transferor). Sure, the tickets will already be sorted and some people will beneift from the switch, but big deal. Prevents someone from being out $150 and, more inportantly, it prevents a pair of great 10C tix from sitting empty during a show when there are many people around here who would love to be sitting in them...
I think that's what they did last year. Heard about a waiting list for Wembley, and people who got tickets that way.

But this year they seem really saying NO.

I'm worried about the idea of them reselling tickets that have not been picked up.. there's long travel to do in between some of the shows, delays might happen..I'd be VERY pissed off if I'd arrive at a show at the last minute (no intention to, but you never know) and they re-sold my ticket

10C tickets have been going fast for a lot of shows these days. Lots of people are getting shut out. I think the sort of behavior they're attempting to discourage is people snapping up tickets, figuring out later if they can get to the show, and then crying for help when they can't pull it together. Legitimate reasons will pop up, but there always seems to be a ton of the former.

They tell you UP FRONT and BEFORE you make the purchase, that there are no refunds or exchanges. If one can't exercise a little restraint with their credit card, bitching at the Ten Club about it is completely unreasonable.

Unless Im mistaken the rules said very clearly that there were NO TRANSFERS so if you can't make it don't buy them because you will lose your tickets if you can not attend....if this was disclosed before the purchase I don't see how anyone not being allowed the transfer is getting ripped off...

To the initial poster... I hope they allow you to transfer your tickets, it sux to miss the show and lose the money too :(

At what time would you suggest it would be 'safe' to transfer unused 10C tix?

1/2 hr into the show? After 1st encore?

Then those on a 'waiting list' would be bitching that they are paying full for only 1/2 a show.

I realize it sucks to eat tickets, (been there-done that) but shit happens, and if 10C continue to allow transfers an increasing # of members will be requesting this little favor.

    Sometimes no means no.
They were very upfront about it so it shouldn't be that much of a shock.

    yeah but to be honest:
    a) they announce only days/hours before the tickets go on sale leaving very little room for people to make sure of their availability.
    b) they've said no refunds or exchange the last 2 years too yet they DID allow them both years (less easily last year, but they did too)

there's been talks in the MSG threads of 10c tickets begin released BEFORE the show starts, like 1 hour or 30mn.

    that's what I'm worried about.

i realize you're relatively new on the PJ touring scene, despite your recent blast of shows (previous & upcoming) but you need to keep the following in mind: 10C's will-call policy will NEVER change, and 10C members have until 30 minutes after PJ takes the stage (as stated above) to collect their tickets, at which time 10C will-call closes. what 10C chooses to do with those tickets once will-call is closed is at their discretion; however, having said that the theory you mentioned about 10C giving away tickets @ MSG that haven't been picked up with 30-60 minutes before show time is completely FALSE :)

This would be true if people weren't warned not to buy tickets unless you have your plans set in stone....

I'm sure they could easily do a lot of things, but I think that the no transfers policy is to discourage people buying and tickets and reselling them asking for a transfer.... but the most important thing is that they tell you this in advance.. its not like we dont know, so if we are not sure whether we can or can't go then why even bother buying tkts, if you have plans that can fall through dont get 10C tkts get ticketmaster ones and resell them if necessary.

I see what you are saying, but I dont think it applies if the merchant tells you ahead of time what will happen if you dont use the tickets...

I too think that's always been their policy on 2006 one of my friends showed up almost 45 minutes into the show and his tkts were still there...

I have never really waited around will call after the show starts to be honest with you but have never met anyone that's bought tkts that belonged to someone else that didn't pick it up.... for some reason that would just seem wrong to me, to deny refunds and still resell the tkts and make double profit?

Yes, people have abused the system…but there are also people, like me,who have been a member for more than ten years and never asked for a refund/transfer/exchange whatever but have found themselves for the first time without tickets at home and need a little help for the first time. So that is the way it is…I guess we all have to share the burden/blame.

    Good point.

Hope you have good luck getting your tickets to someone who can use them, OP. I'm in Florida and I'm tempted, but we've already set money aside for NYC and the two MSG shows.

i realize you're relatively new on the PJ touring scene, despite your recent blast of shows (previous & upcoming) but you need to keep the following in mind: 10C's will-call policy will NEVER change, and 10C members have until 30 minutes after PJ takes the stage (as stated above) to collect their tickets, at which time 10C will-call closes. what 10C chooses to do with those tickets once will-call is closed is at their discretion; however, having said that the theory you mentioned about 10C giving away tickets @ MSG that haven't been picked up with 30-60 minutes before show time is completely FALSE :)
I'm basing it on what people SAID happened the last time they played MSG...I did find it weird, but I wasn't there, I can only rely on what people who were said.

...and how exactly are they ripping people off again?
Unless Im mistaken the rules said very clearly that there were NO TRANSFERS so if you can't make it don't buy them because you will lose your tickets if you can not attend....if this was disclosed before the purchase I don't see how anyone not being allowed the transfer is getting ripped off...

I guess you're right keeping a customers $140+ for a pair of tickets because of circumstances that are beyond the purchasers control is not ripping people off.

I don't expect people who are not is this situation to agree because it's not their money. And it's easy to say, that's their policy and you were aware of it so tough luck. But when a business keeps customers money and leaves them with nothing to show for it that's going to create a bunch of upset customers. My point is that there is a problem with the system and the
10 club needs to address it. I'm sure there is some solution that won't put too much burden on the 10 club and provide some relief for those in this situation.
