Remasters - remastered too high?

The Brendan Ten version was fully overblown and suffered from the loudness wars making it worthless.

Just wondering if the remasters for VS and Vitology are similarly overblown from mastering?

  • If you didn't like the remastered version of Ten, you probably won't like these either.

  • Love the remaster of Ten
I don't think it's too loud at all, suits the album. Felt like a whole new album in a way when i first listened to it

I'm excited for the Vs and Vitalogy remasters, personally they sound perfect as they are
    but
I thought that about Ten too

the remastered version of ten sounds the same as the original, it's the REMIXED one that sounds different (better, I would say).. these remastered versions of Vs and Vitalogy will sound the same as the old versions, because remaster doesn't mean a new mix, and only older albums (like from 60's or 70's) can sound different when remastered nowadays.. so, don't expect "new" Vs and Vitalogy, because they will just be the same

not true.....The remixed version of Ten sounds different than the original. Maybe you don't notice it right off the bat like the redux, but there is a definite difference.

Several of the older bands have had 2 or 3 sets of remasters and you can tell a difference between every one of them.

I'm not sold on the idea of remastering Vs and Vitalogy - I fear they can only end up worse, and like several people have been saying - suffer from the worse excesses of the current mixing fads. Apart from anything else - these albums don't fucking need remastering - what they need, which I think Dewie Cox has been saying for a while, is to take the original master and slap it on some quality vinyl. I would buy those, but I'm not convinced I'm going to buy the remastered vinyl. I'll probably pick up the CDs though - mainly for the bonus tracks.

I always thought the same sorta, I believe about and there after in 1995, sound was upgraded. Look at the Stones who keep going and upgrading sound and re-doing cd's...

There will be slight upgrade of sound...I hope

Every listen to Whipping? It needs to be upgraded like songs from Rearview Mirror Hits

No, they probably won't be the same, they'll probably be worse as almost every remaster because it's probably going to be louder. To be more specific, louder than it should be.

Sure you can tell a difference and in fact, usually the original version is the best :P .
