Someone may have already posted this question but I noticed that the 'buy' button is no longer on the Vs/Vitalogy page. Is there a problem with the site as I wanted to order the boxset...

    Same here

    It's still there for me...

I can understand the tape hate. I'm only 21, so obviously I was not an active fan when they were doing the Self-Pollution Radio broadcasts. Having it on the medium of the time is a really awesome throwback, at least to me.

As someone who was a teen in the 90s. We hated cassette tapes, when CD prices and Players became affordable, the use of cassette tapes declined rapidly. Especially when Car CD players got better at not skipping.

By '95 CD's were probably already dominating over tapes. So I would say CD was the medium of choice when self pollution aired. So the fact it's being released as a casette doesn't really gel with the era (allthough alot of people were using tapes in '95, it was definitely on the decline, as CD was so superior).

Tapes were more a thing of the 80's and early 90's.

As for this boxset, I'll buy it, but I keep waiting to see if it'll be release domestically here in Canada, because the shipping from ordering from 10c is a bit steap (40 bux?!?!). I bought the 10 super deluxe and could of saved money buying it domestically.

Was going to order just now (from Norway), had to go to Sony site (lost the good Ten Club vibe...) and got served with this final bill :

    Total kr1,436.80 NOK $241.09

~80$ because I'm not from the US......is this really a PJ product, or just a Sony MoneyGrab???!

I was talking to a buddy today about the reissues and the thing that jumped out at me, here at 32, is I can vividly remember not being able to sleep the night before Vitalogy came out. I had just turned 16 and could not wait to drive around and bleed my eardrums. Now I'm buying the reissue. Pretty crazy how time sneaks up on you...

Yes and no. In 95, tapes were on the decline except for one thing. Few people, at that time, could write music on a CD. I remember I was still using tapes when I needed to record music. :)

Thats a good and valid point. I think I paid over 400 dollars for my first burner in '98. Some I knew paid much more for one the year before that.

The problem was in '95 I'd already put a cd player in my car which pretty much rendered tapes useless to me :( Couldn't have the best of both worlds at the time.

I think for expensive items such as the super deluxe, 10c should offer a layaway plan haha. three payments of $50

Especially when you heard the difference between both tape and cd. ;)

exactly. How many of us in '95 recorded the Self Pollution/Monkeywrench broadcasts onto cassettes? So I think it's appropriate for the box set.

Should've done what I did. Tape player head deck and CD shuttle in the back ;)

They still have it (deluxe 'n all) at at least one (are there more? ;) ) plain clothes record (what a misnomer in general, though....) shop here in Norway (!)......could have saved the shipping (which tends to be 2/3 of the the total price :( ....as I said, Norway.

The market for PJ vinyl has sky-rocketed waaaay beyond any other comparable band.....if they continue down the path of re-re-reaper-releases, methinks the people paying up towards $200 for Binaural etc. could put their money to better use......hate the negative potential ethical loss as PJ fans start hating themselves for their materialism, and record shop owners (a sly, but necessary part) with unknown moral compass take charge of those dollars.....

I get the error "Validation error, please try again. If this error persists, please contact the site administrator" when I choose international from the pj main site to take a look at the vs/vitalogy pre-order site. Same thing for a few days already. They don't get many orders if people can't find the direct link to sonydigital.
