Do you think that altruism is just another form of egoism?
no they are two different things IMO but they can be linked if you have a big ego
Youre right about the cards, never thought about giving them to friends and family, maybe this year

Yes, if you give to charity and tell people about it that's egotistical, it's not really charity, it's supposed to be anonymous.
Hmm, don't really know many Germans. I'm partially German and have lots of (native) Indian friends. My godfather is the Capilano Chief.

Yep, MSPCA every month. Adopt-A-Lab a few times a year.
So I take a couple of days off posting and come back to find the board has completely changed! I like it, though.

In Irish, I know "Slante" which is "to your health" or something like that. My dad's family is a mishmash, mostly of WASP origin, so I guess by speaking English, I speak that fluently.
I don't know much about further back in his family, though. Just to the level of a great-grandmother.

We celebrate most of the Jewish Holidays and observe the customs - mostly

Are you more or less religous than your parents?

Wayyyy less. I don't go to church. Mom goes every day (since Dad died). Dad went because Mom made him, I suspect.

Mom is from Ireland, but we don't celebrate St. Patrick's Day in any specific way, unless there is a party down at the marina bar in which case I will probably drink a Guinness or two.

Longest you have fasted?

never fasted before...when Mr 4/20 is away I have to remind myself to eat, I don't get that 'I'm hungry' feeling.
has anybody ever fainted in the Synoguoge?
