That "system under heavy load" message was new though. I wonder if somehow that messed it up.

Because after 20 minutes or so it was smooth sailing. Maybe they went in and disabled that.

if i had to guess, it was a combination of some people being shits and trying to add the tickets to their carts with no intention of purchasing them coupled with those actually looking to purchase tickets.

i'm no "computer nerd" either, but if i had to guess it appeared as though 10C simply "dumped" all the bandwidth traffic and reloaded the site back up to clear up the backlog,...

Mansfield is going to be a nightmare. We know this. MSG and Mansfield are the biggest shows of this tour with the most fans wanting tickets.

All I can say is good luck to all :)

This is simply an extraordinarily bad system and 10C seems to have no interest in changing it. This is exactly the same as in 2006, with the exception that we were lulled into a false sense of security by the slow sales down south. I mean, I got the tickets eventually, but this crashing problem is significant.
It is time to admit that we used to rock like hurricanes. It is time to run for the hills and go round and round. It is time for us to shout at the devil. We've got the right to choose it, there ain't no way we'll lose it, and we're not gonna take it anymore.

during the '06 10C presales, i was able to purchase tickets using a DIAL-UP connection, for true, 20-30 minutes after tix went on sale and i was still able to purchase them. needless to say, my broadband DSL came through today, dial-up would have been presale suicide,...

It's nerve-wracking, sure. But to me, it's no different than the old days of trying to score tickets by phone. "Page cannot be displayed" = a busy signal.

The index-card mail-in system worked OK ... but it was a whole different kind of pain in the ass, what with the needing cash up front for money orders and what not.

My advice to most people would be this: These are concert tickets. Not the cure for cancer. If you don't get them, life will go on.

    you had dial-up... hahaha.

actually it sounds like you were very lucky back then. this type of shit happened for most of the shows in 06 as well.

that's just it, i was stuck at a location that ONLY had dial-up (and still does today actually lol). couldn't get back to my broadband DSL in time; however, didn't take that risk today :)

I think a good strategy is to wait out the crazy first 1/2 hour when the system crashes and start logging in around the 40 minute mark

I had no trouble with the 2006 tickets at all, server never crashed on me or said tickets temp unavailable. Each time it went to get 06 tickets it took be about 2 minutes each... maybe i was just extremely lucky though...

what nightmare? an hour and ten minutes later...tix are STILL easily available?

*aha...i see.....clusterfuck to start. nonetheless, be HAPPY tix ARE still available. after about a half hour - 40 minutes, MSGS were GONE. i think none of the sales have been or will be as bad as MSGs were.

gotcha. that sucks, is majorly frustrating....but none the less, now at 1:45 EDT tix are still EASILY available. thus, MSG still the bigger nightmare. for many of us, first 20-25 minutes, myself included.....same issues as what apparently happened with hartford today. BIG difference - only had maybe 10 more minutes to actually BUY tix before they were sold out. i was VERY lucky, others were not. so at least today, perhaps same frustrations, but at the very least REWARDED with 10c tix if desired.
