That was in reply to the person who had their IP blocked by Ticketmaster. So in that sense, it does hide their IP. By the way, condescending replies are not very welcome around here, well at least by me.

The condescending reply wasn't directed at you in particular, let alone meant to be condescending... take it as you wish. My reply was meant to help those who want a fair shot at tix, and not hinder themselves with false/inaccurate information, I provided a 2nd opinion so that those people could decide for themselves how to approach the problem.

I find it hard to believe that TM blocked an entire company's network, let alone an individual IP, there were outside circumstances involved.

    1) why would TM block anyone thats not abusing them? If they are in the business to sell they wouldn't isolate who can come in the "front door".

    2) If they were blocking IP's then sites like proxy.org would be blocked as TM would interpret that as a small few devices accounting for a large amount of traffic, essentially a brute-force/denial of service attack, which is essentially what the brokers' software is doing, and why TM was able to get an injunction put in place to stop it.

    3) the same theory applies to those that believe the scalpers/brokers have the ability to block out those in their geographic area. What is more likely to be happening there is network saturation from all the legitimate people trying to get to TM, and the ISP's network gets overloaded, this seems more likely to be the case w/ cable/DSL providers, as bottlenecks are known occurrences at the neighborhood/head end, not the backbone. Think peer2peer downloads and Comcast.

Is it me or was it impossible to get tickets for MSG? I tried when the presale for ten club members and no success, then I tried for the ticketmaster presale and again no success. I have been a member since 98 and this is the first time I haven't been able to get tickets to see Pearl Jam.

Maybe we should start a thread saying that PJ needs to add another MSG show!!! Or just more shows in the tri-state area!!

A couple years ago I was trying for Tom Petty/Black Crowes for Jones beach tickets. We were afraid that it was going to be a tough ticket so the plan was for me to take whatever the first seats that came out. I ended up getting 2nd to last row. So against good judgement, I gave them up and tried for better seats. I almost fainted when 6 tickets 2nd row dead center popped row. after screwing with my friend for a couple minutes telling him I got 2nd to last row, I told him what happened, and needles to say he was shocked and exstatic.

Instead of going for "best available", which may give you seats that are low, yeat way in the back, go for a higher level. Sometimes the best hamburger tastes better then the worst steak!

go to your local MACYS and hit up the ticketmaster outlet hidden in the back of the store- usually by the gift-wrapping sections.

Don't have two tabs open in the browser, even if they are going for tickets on different nights. You have to start the search process again.

First of all, why are you questioning the veracity of what I wrote? What POSSIBLE reason could I have to make that up?? Second, it's 100% true. The woman at TM said that if you refresh too many times you get tagged, and if they deem that they THINK you MIGHT be a scalper because of that (there is NO criteria other than the refreshes) they will block your whole IP for 24 hrs. My company is in no way affiliated with anything that could be construed as entertainment, it is an environmental company and is NOT entertaining in the least :)

I was just trying to help others avoid what happened to me, I don't appreciate they way you made it sound when you said you don't believe it. I don't really care if you believe it, if it keeps someone from getting screwed in the sale.
