So we keep illegals out by creating jobs in there countries, why can't they create jobs in their countries?
I think if they could they would there is just not the capital, or infrastructure in these countries for them to be able to create jobs. The us is the biggest and richest nation in the world, unless it creates jobs in the other countries you are going to get people from these countries coming over,
America as a country has been built by immigrants so i wouldn't don't really have a problem with immigration, but if you do have a problem with immigration one sure way of stopping it is investing in poorer countries[/quote]
Maybe. I don't know if were the biggest and richest anymore, China looks like it's doing good, maybe they could create jobs in Mexico.0 -

You don't HAVE TO create jobs here... but any job helps, no matter where it comes from. Obviously the economy here is more screwed up here than in the US, so creating jobs here is harder.
I work for a mexican company that has offices in Spain, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, China and the US. My company has employees from more than 20 different nationalities, including at least 30 americans. Those 30 americans have a job that could be done by a mexican engineer, so that's 30 less jobs created here. It's just free market. You lose jobs to an indian firm, you gain jobs from a japanese automaker. It just happens you live in the most important market in the world.

its still the most important market in the world because americans have huge amounts more disposable income than the chinese who get paid a pittance comparatively
the more the world co-operates the better the world will do economically, at least that is my view0 -
unsung I stopped by on March 7 2024. First time in many years, had to update payment info. Hope all is well. Politicians suck. Bye. Posts: 9,487Almost every single one of you is missing the point entirely, going on and on about immigration which has nothing to do with the topic.
I'll spell it out. The US Taxpayer bailed out GM. GM should be creating jobs in the US. If Mexico bailed out GM then create jobs in Mexico.
Capitalism does not bail out companies that are going under. Would that mean a loss of jobs? Yes. But as many of you here so proudly claim that maybe those people should have a better education, maybe their lives are "epic fails".
Just remember the job you save might be your own someday. Buy products made in your home country.0 -

US taxpayer dollars should have been invested for US taxpayer jobs. I'll never buy another GM product again.0 -

I think the point is that US politicians bailed out GM so voters should vote out those politicians. I know I voted against every one of them that I could that supported giving money to GM and the banks. The only people we should try to get even with...
...are those who've helped us.

Where is the accountability? These US politicians that signed the bailouts sure got duped, heck the entire US taxpayer system got duped. Companies that were bailed out with US tax dollars should have been forced to invest in the US. That is not too much to ask.
Well... look at the bright side... that's 1,000 less Mexicans crossing the border you have to bitch about for stealing your job.Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!
