Howard Stern Show's constant Pearl Jam praise, suddenly
For all the Howard Stern Show listeners out there, do you love all the Pearl Jam that gets dropped in?
This morning their was a Robin parody song to "Betterman"
Fred constantly plays PJ coming back from breaks, so does Teddy at the end of the Wrap-Up show (brother instrumental seems to be his fav -- Fred seems to really like Even Flow).
Everyday, Jay Thomas' promo is State of Love and Trust
Howard and Robin and Fred constantly praise what good music Pearl Jam makes, although Howard does have some comments about them not doing anything anymore, that is just his way, and he still likes the music,... he has admitted many times his favorite song is "Glorified G".... Robin has recently commented that she would love to see them play. I love the one time Howard sang "Jeremy" with auto-tune... funny stuff.
Howard says he would love to interview Eddie, but is afraid Eddie will clam up and be a miserable interview..... I hope not, but he may be right... I can't see the two getting along. However, while listening to the show, it is awesome hearing the PJ shout outs, and the cuts peppered into the show!

sorry for the title, I wrote 2 different things and thought I cleaned it up. whoops, one word makes no sense... my bad0

Jeremys Spoken - never listened to O & A.... I have heard good things, and think it's cool they play PJ, just never got into them, but never understood the war between the OA and HS camps... it is crazy how strong both sides get sometimes
HollisBrown.... that's true, I love the PJ station (most of the time), but this goes back long before the channel... to the K-Rock days.... just commenting on it since I heard the parody this morn0 -
Howard is a big baby, he didn't want them to even mention his name... they took over NY terrestrial radio, and he was angry.

Howard is tight with Natalie Maines, who is a huge fan that listens everyday, which is why Howard aired the West Memphis concert on his channel, maybe she could get Eddie to come, but highly doubtful. Eddie is just about privacy and Howard is not, the interview would never work. I am a fan of both but somethings just don't work together. I heard the Betterman parody, it was kinda funny. And Opie and Anthony are hacks.0

that pretty much sums it up perfectly. he's a big PJ fan but not familiar with the newer stuff0 -
I believe that Howard has met EV as they seem to run in very similar circles from time to time. Howard in his personal life and EV would likely get along really well. Howard also seems to compliment PJ a lot more over the past 2-3 years.
However, EV would never work as an interview on the show. Not even close. If EV and PJ wanted to appear on the show (with no stipulations), Howard would have them on in a second.0 -
I would love to hear Howard interview the band, they would be so uncomfortable.0

Big Stern Show fan. He had Chris Cornell on a few years back. He sang a few songs and the interview was very good. Not your typical, "What celebrities have you banged" that Howard usually does. He asked Chris about Ed; why kind of guy he is, how much of the early years Chris thought may have been schtick, etc. Cornell said Ed was a genuine dude, one of his best friends. I think Pearl Jam would be respected on Stern's show. They really have no reason to go on or anything but it would still be cool, speaking as a fan of both...0

Howard Stern and EV both appeared (separately) at the David Lynch thing awhile back, so they're definitely familiar and support some of the same causesDownload the unofficial Pearl Jam Stat Tracker app for iPhone/iPad. It's FREE.

I think that sums up most people outside of this board.
And Howard has been complimenting pearl jam for years so it has nothing to do with them both being on Sirius.0 -
Howard praised PJ endlessly in 1991. That's how I took notice beyond "casual notice". Howard was playing Evenflow over and over and marveling how great they were. This is when he was syndicated on KLSX FM in Los Angeles in the mornings.Up here so high I start to shake, Up here so high the sky I scrape, I've no fear but for falling down, So look out below I am falling now, Falling down,...not staying down, Could’ve held me up, rather tear me down, Drown in the river0

jeremy autotune was before pj radio. i agree with the OP; all of the pearl jam references existed before pj radio.
howard does not promote anything he doesn't need to.Beavis: All my friends are brown and red? What does that mean?
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
Butthead: Huh huh.0 -
I don't have a sat rad in my house, so I don't get to listen to Stern, but I have PJ radio on my computer in the background all day long..But it's good to know they are pushing how awesome PJ is..My husband listens to Stern eveyday in his worktruck..faithful listener..LOL..and he's always bugging me about being a PJ freak, just doesn't understand the obsession I guess
It's good to know he's gettin' it from Stern & crew too!! LOL 0 -
One day Steve the Intern was running the board on the Wrap Up show and at the end there was a Pearl Jam song playing. Jon Hein commented that of course Steve was playing Pearl Jam so it was time to wrap up.
I like both Stern and Pearl Jam. And sandwiches now that I think about it."We're fixed good, lamp-wise."0 -
Yeah is it Teddy or Steve B. who is the big PJ fan that always plays their outros on the Wrap Up Show? Love that.
A while back listening to Rosie O'Donnell's radio show, she had a staffer who was a huge fan and needed to be at a computer to get tickets through the 10C pre-sales. It was pretty funny - I think Rosie ended up getting him tix to the MSG show(s) ... forget the guy's name though.
That'd be a funny bit - to record someone going through the trials of securing pre-sale tickets to an MSG show...good times0 -
I do enjoy Stern and listen to him every now and then but I listen to Opie And Anthony almost every day! Opie is a huge PJ fan and loves PJ Radio. Ant likes PJ but does rip on them in good fun and does a good Vedder impression. Opie And Anthony! 202!0
