Sorry - don't mean to rub it in - I do have one. I had every intention of filling the little guy up and using it, but I can't bring myself to do it...seems like a waste

I didn't get one but they will be available on the website in a few weeks. It takes time to engrave them. I might pick one up then.
  • I filled him up. I don't smoke but playing with fire makes me feel like a kid again.

Using mine.. As soon as I got off the plane coming home, I hopped in my car and went to the corner store to get lighter fluid. It's already got some scratches and dings.. like a well worn pair of jeans!

    Peace!

I think it's funny that people will actually buy one of these zippo's just to keep it for it's "collectible" value. I'm mean seriously, how much do you think this little thing will be worth in a few years for you to not use it at all??? I can understand buying vinyl, posters and what not and keeping those in the best condition possible for their collectible sake..but a frickin' lighter?? C'mon folks.

I got one, and I immediately filled it up and began using it as my primary lighter...and I love it too!

    Peace,

I spoke to the mech guys too...they did confirm they'd be up on the site, but they in NO way assured me they wouldn't be limited...I hope it's not one of those situations where they have a case or 2 (50 per case) to sell.

That said, he wasn't sure and didn't know if Ed or the 10c was going to make it a "limited" item - if it is not I guess they could simply order as many from zippo as required to satisfy the demand (not like they are numbered or anything) - oh well...we shall wait and see.

Im not keeping mine to sell it later... first I'm afraid of losing it if kept in my purse or pocket and second most of the stuff I buy are in my collectibles trunk :D

I've one, have filled it, and tested it. It's now my concert encore lighter. I don't smoke , but am tired of seeing the cellphones flipped open to call for encores. Part of the pussification of the world. Time to return to the primitive days of FIRE!

These Zippos will not lose value at all. Look at the posters sold in 1998. You can't even touch one for under $200 anymore. The only way the lighters will lose value is if 10C decides to put thousands up for sale on the website and everybody gets one. Right now they are hot and eventually the buzz will die down. Wait and see in a few years what people will pay for these things when they become sparce again and everyone has forgotten about them. I bet you anything it isn't $30 bucks.

I believe that unless 10c makes them readily available to everyone (which I think they should) they will be a real collectible. That said, I wouldn't sell it anyway, so I might as well use it.

Where do you guys find Ronsol? I have a couple of old Zippos... they used to sell Ronsol at supermarkets and 7-11s... but, not anymore.
I guess one of those smoke shoppes at the mall... but, I hate malls.
    ...
P.S. I love Zippos... the click*ping sound they make and the smell of the burning lighter fluid.

i personally dont smoke, but would like one just to have. NOT for "collectible" value, or any monetary value for that matter. Personal value for a person who enjoys to collect pearl jam related things is all. I dont care if its worth nothing now or twenty five years from now... i just want to have one.
it's largely due to eddie that i liked to jump off of things as a child...

Never said that I didn't think there were people out there who collected these things...I just couldn't understand why they did. But I'm sure there is a Kleenex box collection out there somewhere on eBay that's being bidded on. People will collect anything I guess. Back in the day we used to call that being a packrat...now you're considered a collector. LOL

Got mine at the corner gas station, along with Zippo brand flints, believe it or not. Any smoke shop should have Ronsonol lighter fluid.
