Chris Cornell is my favorite vocalist ever but I like Footsteps better than Times Of Trouble.

Eddie's vocals in Footsteps do outshine Cornell's in Times of Trouble.

glad to know everyone else is also aware they are basically the same song, musically anyway. but put ed's voice over anything and you've got pure gold.
  • Footsteps. Weird. Listening to TOTD right now as I type this (that and my two girls yelling at each other).

  • I listened to Times of Trouble for the first time in at least 10 years the other day, and even though I generally find Chris Cornell's whiny screech insufferable, it is still a fine song. I'd forgotten there was harmonica on it! I wonder if that's what inspired Ed to start adding it to Footsteps?

To answer the question: it is a close one, but I definitely prefer Footsteps

Almost an impossible choice for me.

Probably go with Footsteps for the bare production. Times of Trouble is perhaps a bit too polished.

This belongs in another thread, but I'm going to go ahead and say, again, that the Newark show was great. The rest of that day sucked, and I was wet and cold for most of the show, but the guys sounded freaking fantastic.
