Pearl Jam at Fenway? Let the rumors begin yet again

I know that there has been a million of these types of threads over the years, but the radio stations in Boston have been bringing up the rumors again.

There has been no official announcement as of yet for the summer show at Fenway. As we all know, PJ will be playing Mansfield June 28th and 30th, which so far are the last two shows of the summer. Radio station WEEI is strongly hinting that PJ will be playing Fenway the week of July 4th.

If you look at the schedule, the Red Sox are out of town from June 27th to July 6th. There would plenty of time to have a show, and get the ball park ready. PJ will be in town, and could easily pull it off.

NY PJ1, get your sources and let us know :)

    Why such a hard-on for PJ at Fenway? Fenway is great for a band like the Stones, with a huge theatrical stage and gimmickry...I just don't think it suits PJ. I prefer they stick with ampitheaters and arenas.

    Yeah plus you have to play 2 dates at fenway. Not gonna happen following 2 dates at Tweeter.

    I know the band are actually sports fans and would appreciate the chance to play fenway, but it's not exactly suited for them you are right.

    I think they'd play Fenway if they weren't playing Tweeter. Just too much lugging around of equipment when they can just add another show at Tweeter. Theo will be in Mansfield, tho no doubt.

    Nice! I love Itchy Fish - used to see them at Mikara's in Springfield all the time. The 2 big cover bands in western MA at the time were Itchy Fish and Staind.

    There would be something cool about seeing Pearl Jam at Fenway even though it's definitely not the best place to see a concert.

    I'd much rather have Ed add a solo show or two at the Orpheum Theatre or the Providence Performing Arts Center.

    There's Pearl Jam, The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, Robert Johnson......and then everybody else.

    I realize alot can change, but this year Theo was on EEI and said PJ wasn't playing Fenway.

    When PJ played the Fleet last time it wasn't sold out the 2nd night. Now, they'll play two shows at the Tweeter, then another two at Fenway for 35,000+ fans? I would love to see it happen, but I'm doubtful.

    Good stuff last time I saw Itchy Fish was like 94.
