Can't wait to see what will be included in the Vs. / Vitalogy reissue.
Ten reissue (Deluxe) was perfectly done, I hope they continue this way.
And maybe we'll see No code / Yield (their peak!) later in 2011 (wishful thinking!)!

To me this is the most exciting part of the announcement.
that actually doesn't indicate absolutely anything. could be a festival, might not be. every article that i've read indicates "festival" in the headline, but what their definition of it is might differ from what many think it is.
so you don't believe the manager of the band who is organizing the event?
It has nothing to do with that, just more the fact that nothing can be derived from what you posted. What is a "party"? It could be an amphitheater show, it could be a beach party, it could be a festival in the middle of a field.

Same with me.
I have high hopes for it, and I'm pretty sure they'll deliver and impress us again!
Their catalogue up to the year 2000 is absolutely impressive to me, I can't wait for these albums filled with new extras.
For Binaural, I'm hoping for a new Tracklist, because that was the albums problem.
Why remastred? What's the problem with how they were mastred to begin with? Do they sound bad?
They were made in the 90's. Not in the 50's and transferred to CD from some halfassed source.
A remaster in this case will mean compressing it and brickwalling it for the ipod generation.
The same reason Ten was remastered. The band wasn't happy with how some songs turned out. Sometimes songs are rushed the first time around because they are on a tight schedule that can be fixed later. It has nothing to do with the ipod generation, it has to do with how the band feels about the album which is really all that matters.

The Ten remaster is a different matter where they got tired of the reverb-heavy sound. But still the remaster and the remixing has that modern compression to it.
I seriously doubt that VS->Avocado was rushed out without them feeling satisfied with the result. And I have never read an interview where the have talked about not being happy with the mixing/mastering of those albums. But maybe you have some inside information about this that I have missed?
Remastering is a sales gimmick and nowadays means compressing because that is what's in fashion - it's the sound ideal. Can be compared to every movie being colorgraded to Teal and orange for Blu-Ray. It's a standard procedure that people don't think twice about. But it still sucks, because the product is inferior. Even if you love Pearl jam as a band.

Vitalogy was a nightmare to record. That is the one album that was almost not finished. Dave A fights, etc.
Listen, it's their material. If they aren't happy with it(which they obviously weren't), who are we to tell them what to like. If they want to add or remove reverb, echo, delay, etc or if they want to bring McCready's lead level up in a track or level some other stuff out who am I to tell them not to. Everything can be cleaned up. I'm sure there will be never before heard tracks added as well from the sessions. It will be amazing. Just something for me to add to my PJ room. hahahahahahaha

a nice blu ray pro shot atlanta 94 would be sweet if included in w the vitalogy box...
I think that would be the Vs. box.
Shows: 6.27.08 Hartford, CT/5.15.10 Hartford, CT/6.18.2011 Hartford, CT (EV Solo)/10.19.13 Brooklyn/10.25.13 Hartford

thats the thing... in terms of live shows they were playing a lot of vitalogy stuff on the vs. tour weren't they? makes perfect sense to me to lump it all into one box... save me some money too hopefully
can't wait to see what extras are included... and hopefully do the randomly signed thing for a lot of people this time around

exactly... if each of these deluxe editions are priced at $135 or higher, i think id prefer a box set for vs and vitalogy to save some $$$... cause 2011 is gonna be a bad year for my bank acct...looks like im gonna start the good old pearl jam money market fund
it's largely due to eddie that i liked to jump off of things as a child...
No offence, but i'm not sure thats a good idea. I can hear the HORROR stories now if this is during a HOLIDAY weekend. Talk about the potential of people not making it ther, or getting ther late, because of travel problems.

A Trent Reznor remix of Help Help maybe. And that Buffalo show (that was profesionally shot?) on DVD/Bluray.
