Cage the Elephant - Aberdeen

Cage the Elephant is coming out with Thank You, Happy Birthday on January 11th. They released Shake Me Down and Aberdeen on a 45 on black Friday (which I couldn't find), and I can't get an Aberdeen mp3 anywhere. People who pre-ordered the new album get it e-mailed to them today. Does anyone know where I can download a studio version Aberdeen? Thanks in advance, and yes, I do plan on buying the album when it comes out.

  • I pre-ordered the new album (with the shirt) and got Aberdeen in e-mail yesterday. It's awesome, and I love the songs so far. There's another song you can download for free off of iTunes from the new album.

Yeah, I know. Does anyone know where I can download a studio version Aberdeen without pre-ordering the album? I'd rather buy it the day it comes out at a store.

  • This song is just unbelievable, I'm sure it will be a huge radio hit if they release it as a single. It's got balls, and the lyrics are just amazing. A mixture of Matt talking about his heroin addiction and kind of paralleling it to Kurt Cobain a little I'm guessing since the title is "Aberdeen." It resurrects the spirit of Grunge. These guys are the best band to come out in the last decade.

I agree, great song. It does channel "grunge" without falling into the awful stereotypes of "post-grunge."

Absolutely. And I can't wait to see them live again they were so good, including Matt. He was unbelievable, and I didn't expect him to be able to sing that well what with him having ants in his pants  . They're the truth.

Is the rest of their stuff similar to No Rest For the Wicked? That song is just horrible...Sounds like a cheap Sublime knockoff.

Their first album has a good amount of songs similar to that. The songs they've released off their new album (so far) sound nothing like Ain't No Rest For the Wicked. I like that song, in fact it's how I discovered them. That song doesn't sound anything like Sublime to me, more like The White Stripes.
